We just spent 3 nights at the Hyatt. The major plus for it was its location adjacent to the convention center, which was why we were there. Otherwise, the hotel needs a lot of help. While it looks good at first glance, once you're actually there it becomes clear that it's getting old and needs a renovation, as well as some attention to staffing quality. Not worth the room rates they're charging at all.
Some things we noticed:
While front desk staff were nice and helpful in general, when we objected that we had been charged for 3 nights of (expensive) valet parking even though we didn't have a car, the desk employee removed the charge without a word of apology or even explanation.
Restaurant staff would slosh juice and coffee all over the place when pouring, without a second thought. And we were charged for full breakfast buffet instead of continental buffet, but we caught it before we paid.
When asking how to get to a particular restaurant in walking distance of the hotel, the staff in front tried to get us to go to a different place because they didn't know where the first one was.
Have to use key card to use elevators, but the cards would only work about 1/4 of the time, so each time you're in an elevator, people keep inserting and re-inserting their cards for a while trying to get to their floors.
Room was clean but dated, with old furnishings and doors, and large unsightly stains on carpet.
LOUD plumbing noises all night.
TV would turn on with difficulty, and with only audio half the time. Serviceman who came gave advice of turning off and on repeatedly until images came on too.
Would not stay here again.
For a really good room, stay at a different hotel.
