“BEWARD BIG Cockroaches”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 weeks ago

This place was very dirty , my floor was sticky and I had cockroaches , I videoed them and showed them to reception and they gave us a room high up , I don't think the place had been washed in months , the wall skirting ( base boards ) where ment to be white or cream but I couldn't see for the dirt on them , the proudly she photo of what is going to be like when it is renovated but they should keep it clean for there customers they have now !!!!!!!!! The only nice thing I can say is it was a nice location

Room Tip: High up to avoid the cockroaches

We had a beautiful room with a view of Miami and Coconut Grove. The pool area was also great. Nice size pool with view. Hot tub needed cleaning however. I really liked the walking path around the property. Service at breakfast VERY slow.

What an amazing place, this hotel has big plans for the future, but it is a small boutique type of place. It is set on a private island of sorts but connected by causeway to Coconut Grove which is a great area to run or bike if that is what you enjoy.

The rooms are a bit dated but plans for updates are in the works. The view from the room was limited because of all the tropical foliage but still it felt like you were away from it all and in reality only 10 minutes to downtown Miami. Originally we thought we were going to be on Key Biscayne but we it is not, it is connected to the mainland. The grounds are quite nice with breathtaking views of Biscayne Bay and Key Biscayne.

The hotel seems to have a large Latin influence in clientele and more children than I expected but still a good value and I would go back.

We enjoyed dinner in the dining room 1 night and a 2nd night again the dining room but Outdoors and the views are magnificent.

Food was great, the service could be a bit more polished but friendly.

We've been staying with a group over a weekend in March. Our room was outdated and the A/C was not working, actually you couldn't turn it off - the Fan was loud as an airplane (almost:)). Arrival and check in was a disaster as well - 3 people standing around and no-one would help us with the luggage, then rooms only would be available at 4pm. This is supposed to be a 4 star hotel - what a joke.

I booked 3 nights at the hotel through an American Express package and got an awesome rate. The Hotel is gorgeous, an homage to old Florida style and class. We loved our room(s), the view is amazing and really private. The first room we had was great but the AC would not stop running and making sounds. I am sure maintenance has know about the issue and I would recommend fixing the problem before continuing to rent the room. The only thing I absolutely hated was the parking. You are not allowed to park your own vehicle, you must valet and this is an additional $24 a night on top of the $25 per night resort fee. It is an obvious scam and I hate being nickel and dimed like this. Because you are close to the Grove but on an island, we had issues getting taxi service. They recommend Uber so download it to your phone before you go if you need taxi service. All in all a great romantic spot that I would highly recommend over anything in South Beach.

Room Tip: Do not take 207 unless the AC has been fixed. 203 was great

Just spent 4 days at Grove Isle Hotel. Great location, nestled between Coconut Grove and Brickell.
Bayshore Avenue has a lot of traffic, which doubles your commute to wherever you are going.
Coconut Grove is 5-10 minutes .
Miami Downtown about 20-30 minutes.
University of Miami about 10-20 minutes.
The resort itself is dated, older, but kept very clean, and everything in good working order.
The walking trail around the island is nice, with wonderful water views.
We stayed on the fifth floor (top floor).
Staff was pleasant.
Didn't eat at the restaurant, but it appeared to be relatively expensive. Breakfast is between $15-17 for pancakes, waffles, etc. You can do much better by going into Coconut Grove.
Keep in mind that besides the hotel charges there's also a $25 resort fee, and $24 daily valet parking fee. There's no option of parking the car yourself.
We used the valet twice per day, and they were quick, always pleasant, and always offered to give us directions, if needed.
A major renovation / change is planned, so I'm not sure what will be available in the future, but I would stay there again.
