“Not what I expect! Do not trust the picture!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

I had the chance to stay here assuming it will have the same Coral Gable charm but it was not the case. The hotel is old and needs a big overhaul! The staff was nice and friendly but the rooms and the hotel are deteriorated. The room needs better furniture and new carpet. I did not see the pool but is located in the outside between the parking lot and the hotel. It looked old form the outside. The area is very convenient specially if you have meetings in the area but there are other options closer more expensive that could provide a better experience. Do not trust in the picture!

Room Tip: Make sure you ask if renovations took place or if the hotel got painted first.

The hotel looked very nice: old style renovated etc.
However, service was not very good: We were 3 staying in the room and called for more towels, and we were simply told "No !". Also, the price we payed was supposed to include breakfast but it only included coffee, orange juice and 2 toasts, and it was not possible to have more... so we had to go for another breakfast after.
Besides this, room was clean and comfortable.

We booked this room through Expedia, and our confirmation email and their website had some incorrect information. The reservation was supposed to include continental breakfast, but there was none to be found at the hotel. There is a restaurant that serves breakfast for a charge, but it was not open at 7:00 am.

There was also supposed to be a refrigerator in the rooms but ours did not have one.

The bed was comfortable but the rooms on the street side are quite noisy. So if you can sleep through street noise you should be fine.

The pool was ok, but not the cleanest.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool side room if street noise bothers you.

They hotel was easy to find and to get to. Always had clean towels and sheets. Rooms are very clean. The only issue we had was keeping the water at a temp. That we could stand other then that no issues. Will be staying there again.

This hotel is absolutely horrible! Do not stay here. Management is awful. Toilet overflows constantly and cleaning crew does not help. Nobody speaks English! Stay away from this hotel. Don't even spend a $1 on this hotel

I was down with a group. We took 3 rooms. I had a little concern after reading some of the negative reviews, and was expecting a dump.

Boy was I wrong!

I was first in the group to check in, and they gave us a room facing the street. While waiting for the elevator, I saw pictures of the Hotel and area from 100 years ago decorating the lobby.

There was ZERO musty odors. It was extremely clean. We got in the elevator, no mold smell, or smell of any kind. When we got off the elevator, the hall was very clean. The carpet in the hall was in great condition. There were some over head fans that helped the air circulate in the hall.

We got to the room, and I was expecting horrors. Everything was in excellent condition. No paint peeling, or stains. Instead, there was really clean carpet, the air had a bit of a perfume smell, which we found a bit too heavy.

The room was a bit loud due to it facing the street, and the distance between the balcony to the street was only a sidewalk. The street Ponce de Leon is pretty busy, and lined with buildings so there is a lot of vehicle noise.

What would have made it quieter would have been if the hotel had invested in the sound dimming drapes. Though the ones there were pretty heavy.

So we went downstairs and asked to switch rooms. The person at the front desk, immediately switched us to another room, that was in great condition. This room faced the back and the pool.

It too had a balcony. The room size is bigger than a lot of Master Bedrooms in big houses. This room had two Queen beds, with tons of room to spare. In fact, they could have put two King beds in it and still l had a lot of room!

The room had a brand new "Smart TV". The bathroom was tile and was a comfortable size. Not as spacious as the rest of the room, but considering the original building was over 100 years old, this was the expected size. Full size tub, and shower.

I went downstairs and found the other two had checked in to their rooms. I asked how they were, and both said they were "Great". They said the rooms were very clean, the beds were very comfortable. Lots of support, but not overly firm, or soft. I found that in our room too.

Additionally, the hotel has free WiFi

We went down to the restaurant. It serves Greek food. And it was really tasty. Then it was time to get to the Miracle Mile area. A short 5 minute drive, and we were there. It was about 8 blocks I think. It was walkable.

All in all we found the rooms very comfortable, quiet (after we moved to the back side from the street side). Plenty of parking and it was free to park. The staff was very nice, polite and accommodating. They are trying really hard!

It was convenient. Easy to get to and from. Is it the 4 Seasons. No... But they are not trying to be. They are trying to be a clean, friendly convenient reasonably priced hotel with a great staff. And they succeeded!

The other

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the street, unless street noise does not bother you.

Dated hotel in need of renovation! The room I stayed in (309) definitely needed attention (large crack in the wall/ceiling by the window, bathroom door cracked, hot water intermittent, dated furniture and towels......). The Greek restaurant is worth a visit, nice tasty food. Poor complimentary breakfast. Airport shuttle available (however be ready to wait for a long time.....). The only good point? The price, which is unbeatable!
