“Great find on the river.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

Tucked away by the river in an area I would not have found without local knowledge. Stopped by for a late lunch on the way to airport. The service was friendly and efficient. Menu looks good and I plan to visit again to sample more. Only tried a couple of appetizers both very good. All the seafood looks fresh and well prepared.

“Setting beautiful, food good, prices high”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

Lunch outdoors on the Miami River at Casablanca between November and June is a delightful experience. Bright sun shimmers off the water, tugs chug with worn freighters in tow, fresh fish are delivered to the dock a few feet from your table (see photo). Conch salad was as good as it gets. Whole fried snapper was crisp outside, tender and moist inside. Tostones as a side deserve special mention -- pressed to a 4-inch diameter, fried crisp in fresh oil, this Cuban staple was outstanding even by Miami standards. Sprinkle lightly with salt and eat them as soon as they arrive on your table. The grilled Grand Bahamas Grouper Sandwich was a disappointment -- dry and overcooked. Coconut flan was tops. This lunch for 2 with 2 bottles of Heineken was $80 plus tip.

“A perennial”

The fish and sea food is always fresh. Too much frying and not enough grilling but then the choice is yours

“Great paella”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2012

I learned about Casablanca during a news report about the misrepresentation of fish by restaurants. The owner of Casablanca was featured in the report and he said that his restaurant never served anything but what was on the menu. Since Casablanca has a seafood market next door, I decided to try the restaurant.
The restaurant is located on the Miami River and the outdoor seating is in a shaded area besides the river. While having dinner, 2 families pulled into their dock and ordered their meals. I ordered paella based on a previous review and I was very happy with the fresh and abundant seafood. This was probably the best paella I have ever eaten - quite authentic. Fresh fish is a highlight on their menu and those people around me who ordered their fish 'whole' seemed to enjoy their dinners.
While my dinner seemed reasonably priced ($23), their fresh fish and lobster was a bit pricey.
With a 7pm start time of the Marlins game (only about 1.5 miles from the restaurant, the service was prompt, courteous, and accommodating. I will certainly return.

Beautiful restaurant by the Miami river. Pricey and the food is nothing special. Service is OK.
