Description: Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink is a showcase for the cuisine of Chef/Owner Michael Schwartz, with prices designed to encourage frequent dining. This unpretentious bistro seats 90 indoors and out, with another 14 seats at a handsome bar. Doubling as a casual neighborhood dining spot and a culinary destination, the bright, airy space in Miami’s evolving Design District showcases Schwartz’s trademark new American cuisine at prices designed to encourage frequent dining. Open daily for lunch and dinner, the menu is chock full of choices encouraging everything from a light bite to a multi-course feast. A quick glance at the menu and Michael's intentions for this restaurant are revealed. Notable is the frequency of the word homemade in the descriptions of dishes -- be it pasta, French fries or rabbit terrine. At the same time, Michael's takes advantage of the Chef’s decades-long relationships with winemakers to offer diners the opportunity to try a variety of wines at great value.

“Brunch time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013 via mobile

I love this place! When I think about brunch in Miami, the first place that comes to mind is Michael's. They have a great atmosphere with a truly CREATIVE menu. It's a great place to go with a group and just order dishes to share them with friends!

“By far, my favorite brunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

This is my favorite brunch place in Miami. Their lunch and dinner are good, too, but brunch, for me is the best. They change their menu frequently, featuring good, local food products. I love their sweets, pancakes, egg dishes. All of it! Huge fan. Must try. Reservations are necessary, especially in high season.

“Great Food and Great Drinks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

We came for late dinner on Sunday evening and the restaurant was full but there were tables available . We were seated right away by a very friendly hostess and were approached within seconds by our server! She was incredibly nice and knowledgable and guided us through the very simple menu without hesitation. I ordered a homemade passion fruit soft drink which was delicious and we ordered a bottle of champagne for the table. The food was delicious , beautifully presented and even though the plates are small we were more than satisfied with our choices especially the cheesy grits! OMG the best grits I have ever had! Will definitely be back!!
