“Felt like staying at home.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2010

It was really great expereince staying at Extended Stay at Miami. I went for a week vacation with family.
My kid was so comfortable in the hotel that she was not ready to go to home. Friendly staff and superb environment.

Stayed here for one night on Sunday Feb. 21st. We were only staying here before cruising out of the Port the next day. There were about 10 restaurants within a two block walk from the hotel, but 8 of them were closed on Sunday. A horrible location as you cannot access the hotel from the main street, but you need to drive into the strip mall a block before the address and drive behind it to get there. There was a full kitchen in the room which we did not use and a basic 27 inch TV. Excellent bed and shower and the Continental breakfast was packaged food with coffee and juice. If you are a business traveler this place would be perfect. A no frills but functional hotel.

....then good bargain. This hotel is no more than a 2 star (if that). Ants were crawling everywhere in the bathroom!!! TV did not work, and called the front desk for assistance. Lady said that she would call back to tell me when I can pick up new remote. Over an hour later, went to front desk and she said she forgot my room number. Other than that....would only recommend staying for one night. Two nights okay if not in your room the whole time. Painfully slow internet service in Business Center.

The staff was very accomodating and friendly. The rooms are very large compared to a normal hotel. It's nice to have a kitchen as well. It's a little noisy on the back side but not enough to be an issue unless you are very sensitive to noise. Everything was so good, I'll point out the only negatives just in case it's an issue. The particular room we were in had 2 beds. There is no door between the beds and the sink area so if anyone gets up and turns on the light or washes up, it can awaken others. The toilet and shower of course are in their own room. A positive part of our room is that the area that has the kitchen and "living room." is a ways away from the bedroom which gives great privacy. The included breakfast was nothing special but it was very nice to have. Fruit and fruit juice were provided in addition to other breakfast items. I'm a critical consumer and I would be glad to stay there again.

I never cease being amazed at the often terribly negative reviews on Trip Advisor about hotels/motels where my wife and I have stayed and, more often than not, rated above average if not superior. The Extended Stay Deluxe in Doral (Miami International Airport) is a perfect example of such a site. A number of reviewers have panned this site for any number of reasons but though it is easy to agree with one recent writer that the Extended Stay may not be "deluxe," it is easily one of the best in its chain (and we have stayed in more than dozen across the United States) and a great place to stay when stopping in the Miami International Airport area.

My wife and I just returned after spending eight days at the Extended Stay Deluxe while visiting Miami. We chose that specific hotel because of its central location, its relatively easy on and off relation to nearby freeways and toll roads, its reasonable rates (no one who has ever booked a room in south Florida in January and can possibly believe that they can find a full-sized, king-bedded suite with a full kitchen for less than $80 a night, which we did here, is living in another universe), and, not insignificantly, the motel's complimentary breakfast which, if in no way unique, not only saves one from worrying about either making one's own breakfast or going out to look for something off-site.

The Extended Stay offers a comfortable place to stay and, ultimately, that's what a motel room is all about. But let's be clear: The Extended Stay is also in no way a resort hotel. The lobby, the breakfast room, and, indeed, the suites themselves are, at best, utilitarian. Rooms are cleaned only once a week and parking can be, on some evenings anyway, "tight." There are, as others have noted, a few places to eat and/or shop in the immediate area but, realistically, a car is necessary to access even something is simple as a Walmart store which is located about two miles away from the motel. Traffic both in the morning and afternoon can be overwhelming and it makes getting to and from motel, which is "hidden" somewhat behind a small strip mall, a real challenge at times. Are there larger (and certainly far more expensive) hotels in the area? Absolutely. Most offer far more amenities than does the ESD. If anyone wants elegant in-house "pluses" such as chocolates on the pillow at night, then one should never consider any Extended Stay motel. If, on the other hand, a nice stay for the money in a clean and well-kept-up establishment in the Miami-Doral area is desirable, one ought look no further than here.

Ratings are always subjective. Though given Trip Advisor's scale, a "4" is the most realistic one available, the Extended Stay Deluxe is probably closer to a 3.75. That, of course, is in no way bad. As long as a person is interested in a good night's stay, and apparently any number of pilots who we saw every day that we were at the hotel wanted just that, a 3.75 or even a 4 is more than good enough. My wife and I were in no way unhappy that we decided on the ESD and, were we ever to come back in the area, we'd make new reservations without a second thought.

I don't understand the high ratings that I had read about this hotel. My stay here was very disappointing. I found it to be uninviting. Even though the bathroom was clean, the hallways of this hotel and our room did not smell good and the carpets did not seem clean. Computer access in the breakfast room was very slow, resulting in people being on a long time just to accomplish checking in for a flight, etc. Wireless service was sporadic. Five days after checkout I am still itching from bugbites. The free parking is a great asset for this hotel, however, for the money there may be other hotels for a better value.

Location to the airport is great and a Wal-mart is about 2 miles away. Subway, Checkers, and a pizza place are a short walk away. There was a dvd player in every room.

The hotel is on border line crappy part of Miami. If you get in late a cab ride is around $20 or $25 with tip. The staff was very friendly, room was clean, but if you choose to eat in the room you need to put your leftovers in the refrigerator or dispose right away. The room will be over whelmed with ants or spiders if you don't remove the leftovers. I only stayed two nights, before leaving. Doable if you're staying for a short period of time.
