“Wow. Simply wow. ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2014

My only complaint is that I called a few times during their business hours and no one picked up....what gives? A phone should be answered by the 3rd ring. And if no ones there, well there's no excuse for an empty host stand.
Btw shorts are ok for lunch, but hostess told me not allowed for dinner. And no flip flops for men, ever. Of course I showed up for lunch and a guy has on flip flops walking by. What gives?
Besides that, GREAT experience. Just ate here today. It's incredibly beautiful here inside and out! We had possibly the best server I've ever had. Her name was Nicole R. She took care of us the whole way and suggested things we never thought would be good. Awesome, you should ask for her.
We ordered Fried Burrata, raw oysters, clam casserole( don't be fooled, it's just steamed w a juice....but omg the best flavor w jalapeños and tomatoes!!), and a crab salad....All this while sitting outside looking at the boats pass by. Perfect setting. Perfect server, couldn't ask for more.
**hostess could've smiled a bit more, didn't feel the warm welcome I thought to expect from her.
Overall it's def worth a try!!

“Great for couples or groups”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2014

A little pricey, but thats Miami for you. This place is great for people watching. Good food and great wines and cocktails. Their specials are always fresh and flavorful. The dover sole with risotto and black truffle is a must try. Usually a special on weekends. Pretty big and enough to share. Beware of their market prices.

“Great mediterranean food, nice bar, on the water!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2014

Been there several times, because this place is one of my favorite in Miami. Don't listen to the wrong reviews about the food, the food is good and right. Prices also, I mean you are in a very well decorated place, owners have invested a lot you can see it, but not more expansive than any other trendy place in Miami. If you love french/italian south of Europe kind of food then you will like it. Service is good and efficient, they don't forget you at the bar for your table. The bar has a great location at the entrance and always some nice people there with some cool chill music.
YOU CAN'T BE DISAPPOINTED by going there! And if you think the location is not right, Miami is changing a lot and in few years this river area will be packed with luxury condos!

“Miami at its best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2014

If you want to see Miami from a different angle watching the A lister crowd go to Seasalt and Pepper. What a view of the city from the Miami River! The place is so beautifully, casually chic. Eat and drink while you lounge. You can go via your yacht or sit and watch them roll in. All my friends from out of town I take there close to Sunset to watch the change from daytime to the evening lights of the city. The food is delicious too. Went to a private party on the second floor which was fantastic. I could go there every week and not get bored. A must do!

“A Fine Dining Adventure in a gentrified old fishmarket setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2014

Not really in a nice area of Miami, but an up-and-coming place. Arrive and notice the cars parked outside: Bentleys, Rolls Royces, Lamborghinis.....what is all the fuss about?

Enter Sesalt and Pepper. The restaurant design is innovative: and outdoor-inside dining area. An old fishmarket cleaned up and designed by someone who has imagination and excitement, with Indian and Maine flair together that somehow just works.

Just be ready for high volume music, a less than polite and aloof host staff, but an exceedingly doting wait and buss staff. How did the host staff become so aloof? It does not make sense. But in the balance of it all--it didn't matter anyway. They had no idea how I will keep them snubby by telling others to dine there. Perhaps their attitudes were due to the location's extreme popularity. Make sure you secure a reservation--you will need it.

The Vidalia onion, market catch and the pasta dish my guest had were for some reason some of the best food I have ever had. The lava cake dessert was good but just a touch a bit dry. The waiter recommended the apple dish. Next time.

There are two valet parking lots that sit side by side in front of the venue. Use the first, for only five dollars fee. The second for some reason holds a sign that appears to show the lot is affiliated with the restaurant, and it really isn't. You wlll pay $10 to park there. But with all of those Bentleys and Rolls Royces--why should you care?

If you do the bar, try the Mellolini--watermelon with pounded fresh basil. Neat. Just neat. And different. And new and neat.
