“See Nature at its best: simple and complex”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2014

This busy attraction was great to see in March during the afternoon. No bugs to speak of, and the weather was not to hot to immobilize you. Richard Dawkins talked about nature theories that explained the existence of "organized complexity," and the Everglades National Park tour certainly looks simple at face value [water, hammocks, grasses, wildlife], but when I had a chance to take an airboat ride and to listen [once you remove the ear plugs he/she gives you because the motor is LOUD] to our informative [and safety conscious] park guide, I was awed by the intricate natural balance. I tried to imagine the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians navigating in burned out canoes and living within the Everglades in years past. Just unbelievable. We saw snakes, alligators, cranes, and other animals. I learned a thing or 2 about alligators. We saw some water lilies? in bloom. We were informed about the how non-native pythons are invading and jeopardizing the habitat. Went back to the park for an educational alligator show, walked through a so-so exhibit, and then tried some gator bites and frog legs during our lunch break at the attraction's cafeteria. I thought the frog legs tasted more like chicken than he gator bites, although neither had a strong "wild" or "expected "swampy" taste [to compare-I don't like strong tasting fish]. However, my Cuban sandwich that had a sliver [I mean under a microscope onion skin sliver] of meat disappointed. The women's bathroom was fairly clean. The attraction was quite busy [some cars parking along the highway because lot was full]. As others have said, the staff were friendly.

“Good stop along Tamiami Tr.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2014

A good way to spend the afternoon. Came with family. Did the airboat ride which was fun and informative. Very pretty scenes of the Everglades. Saw a few alligators along the way. Then came back to the park and walked around for a while. Saw a lot more alligators, snakes and other creatures. Ate lunch in the cafe. Great stop on our way between Key Largo and Ft. Myers. Staff was friendly.

“Great time spent! ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2014

The tour guides are very professional and informative. People are very nice. The area is nice to walk around and enjoy with family and friends. Though I have to say the food is a little lacking. Had the gator bites and couldn't tell it was gator. The pull pork sandwich isn't great. But staff is very friendly.

Great time with the alligators. Amazing place ! Didn't taste the alligators meat but it seems it's excellent and looks like chicken.
