“Top notch airport hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2011

Nice pool, nice rooms, only a few minutes via free shuttle to the airport. The food in the sports bar is very good & reasonable prices.

Nothing special at all about this hotel - except that it's really close to the airport and has a free shuttle. Spent a night "in transit" so fit my requirements perfectly - got to the hotel in 10 minutes at night and back to the airport in 10 minutes in the morning.

My family and I got "stuck" at the Miami Airport Marriott due to the large fire at the airport, but we enjoyed our extended stay.

The good: nice updated hotel lobby, great breakfast buffet (was included in our rate - search for the package!), very friendly waiters (which expect to be tipped big, though), decent pool (although they squandered more pool space by having a super large pool patio), great super-modern Champions bar in the adjacent Courtyard Marriott (which appears to be the better deal - same amenities and more modern rooms). Free internet in the hotel lobby. Reliable shuttle service to the airport every 15 minutes.

The bad: room are simply too small and this includes the tiny bathrooms; signs of wear and tear in places. The hairdryer died on me, which wasn't a surprised given the age of the room. A/C was hard to get right. Super uncomfortable rollaway bed for which there was almost no floor space. Guests can be a bit nasty (we had some college kids hanging out by the pool and a wedding party with truly obnoxious people making noise past midnight), but alas no noise in the hotel corridors. There is a rental car company located in the lobby but they had no cars while we were there, which should not be happening. Hotel receptionist made the mistake of extending our stay by only one instead of two nights, which could have ended in a disaster (they kept running out of available rooms).

Despite the flaws, I'm looking forward to staying at this Marriott although I might check out the Courtyard Marriott next time.

I reviewed your comments regarding your recent stay with us at the Miami Airport Marriott. As a management team, we value our guest’s experience and feedback and share them with our associates.

I am delighted to know that you enjoyed our Lobby experience, our friendly waiters and Champions in our adjacent Courtyard. As our Miami Airport Marriott Campus is conveniently located to the airport, our shuttle runs every 15 minutes to Miami International Airport from any of our 3 hotels.

Exciting news for our guest rooms this year, in that we will be conducting a rooms refresh/update and would welcome the opportunity to host you in one of our new rooms on your next trip to Miami.

We used the free shuttle from the airport which took about 20 minutes to get us. Upon arrival, we checked in to our room which was ready and what we asked for, 2 beds on a quiet side of the hotel. We ate in the neighboring hotels Champions for a late lunch early dinner. It was just ok, a bit expensive for basically bar food.

The landscaping of the pool area was lovely. I sat in a lounge chair and relaxed while my kids played around the area.

The hotel is older but has been updated. The lobby was quiet modern and nice. The beds were super comfy and I am picky. The shower had great water pressure. The room was a bit small but fine for an overnight stay.

We got a great rate through Priceline.

I do recommend this hotel for a family of 4.

There is a Starbucks in the hotel, which is a huge plus for me as well.

We picked this hotel since it was close to the airport & are partial to Marriott properties....plus our flight got in close to midnight. The shuttle was just pulling away as we got outside, but didn't wait more than 5 minutes for the next one. The front desk staff was very friendly & the check-in process went very smooth. The room was clean & at first we didn't think there were room darkening shades either, but they were there, just pushed all the way back. The next morning we had breakfast in the restaurants & it was delicious! The staff was great & the menu had a nice selection.

Two major flaws: our room looked out on an roof air conditioning complex and the heavy drapes were not designed to cover the window. Secondly, the main restaurant was designed like a cafeteria, with most seats very uncomfortable. Clearly not intended for serious dining. Sports bar was OK with good snacks.

Very secure place, with very comfortable rooms and a helpful staff. Great shuttle service to the airport.

We had an overnight at the Miami airport for a business meeting nearby the following day. The hotel was just fine. Only negative was the view of the air conditioning unit on the roof, but we weren't there for the view.

We'll stay there again when we are on the way to Latin America, since most of the major cities require us to connect, and Miami is more convenient than other options. For an overnight and quick shot back to the airport, it's perfect.
