Whenever I visit the states I try to have a range day (or two) and get my hands on some interesting firearms that aren't available in my home country. I've seen everything from private ranges to vegas all-inclusive-packages but Lock & Load Miami blows them all out of the water: They are very modern, very professional and they may be the only place in the US (possibly the world) where a civilian has the chance to fire a HK MP7. If you like firearms or just want to shoot the guns you know from movies and games, this is the place to visit.
At first I was sceptical because in my experience smaller, less commercial ranges usually offer a better, more personal experience, but Lock & Load had and incredible lineup of exotic firearms like the Kriss Vector, FN F2000 and of course the MP7, so I decided to check the place out when I was in Miami. It was easy to find and there is a small but free parking space right in front of the entrance.
First impression: Lock & Load is a brand new, clean and fairly large facility. Airsoft replicas of all real-steal guns from the range line the walls of the lobby, so you can get all your fun-photos and hands-on impressions without putting yourself or anybody in danger. The Airsoft replicas are all brand new and top of the line versions that give you a very realistic impression of the actual weapons. For the actual weapons: You can pick what you like or go with any of the typical packages like "future firearms" or the "007 package". The prices are appropriate though with the packages you only get one magazine per weapon.
Also included (And imho extremely mandatory) is a the basic instruction on a dummy AR15 where you get your basic firearms rules and correct posture lessons before you get to the range so everybody feels save and in professional hands when stepping on the range. I've been there on a quiet wednesday right after the range opened, so I got the chance to get briefed by the owner of Lock and Load, a very experienced and overall great guy.
The range I've been on was short (mostly for fun shooting) but the nicest I've ever seen - Check their website for pictures. And the rest is, well, firearms. If you're into that it's brilliant. The guns are brand new, have high quality accessories like holo-sights and ergonomic foregrips and are great fun to shoot. Like usually it's over way to quick but most people, including me, left with a big grin on their faces ;-)
