This is a small gem of a museum for those who enjoy art. The architecture is stunning and reflects the essence of the Miami environment. It is one of the rare places where you can get an unobstructed view of the bay and the Port of Miami. The museum's focus is contempory art of the Americas. It has a permanent collection, as well as, a number of changing exhibits that add interest to the visit. The cafe is very good, capitalizing on the culture of Miami in their menu choices. Parking very limited. I would recommend researching parking lot options that surround the museum area and transferring onto free MetroMover which drops you off, literally, at their door step. If you have the interest and time I recommend the docent tour; they are free and take about 45 mins., children are not always patient. Perez is my current "vistors destinations" along with Fairchild Tropical Gardens for my guests. Those with children, I take them to Jungle Island and the Children's Museum across the crossway from Museum Park.
