Bongos is located in the AA Arena, which made it hard to find. We were expecting a small restaurant...but actually it was large!
Not much of a plus that the restaurant is owned by Gloria Estefan. We had fun though playing with at least 50 drums that were scattered throughout the restaurant. While we were there, it was pretty busy.
Their pina coladas are very good. Many tables had at least one pina colada, which had a lot of pineapple and coconut flavor.
They gave a garlic bread to us (complimentary), which was extremely delicious.
The soups that they offered were delicious. They had a creamy veggie (don't remember what kind) soup, which was white colored, which was extremely delicious and filling. Their seafood chowder was okay, but not very thick and not very fresh seafood.
The entrees were a little bit disppointing. The pot roast seemed to be pulled out from a meat stock and then sauce was just added to it. The flank steak was flavorful, but chewy. The fish we had was pretty good. Plantains were served along with our entrees as well. Somehow, they tasted better the next day (the meats)
Waiters were a little slow, and would not return to us quickly. For example, after we asked for a extra basket of bread, we waited like 10 minutes, which is a LONG time.
Overall, a good restaurant with cool decor, but some foods are so so.
