“New, convenient to the airport and excellent shuttle service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2014

This trip was a combination of business, visiting friends and attending PGA at Doral. Chose hotel because it had suites, as 2 children were with me for part of my visit, was new, and convenient to the airport with free shuttle. Although cost was more than I planned, it was worth the extra money. We did not have breakfast at the hotel, but a free breakfast would have been a nice addition. They had a small but diverse dinner menu and I enjoyed a soup and salad when I arrived the first evening. Only negatives were the rooms were quite small and the toilet paper holder fell out of the wall, not a good sign in a brand new hotel. Also, one night when we had gotten stuck in traffic, were running very late and needed to change quickly for dinner neither of our keys would open the door to the room and we had to go downstairs to get new ones. I had been warned about traffic but was still not prepared for how bad it really was and that directions in both iPhone and Blackberry were useless, given the confusing highway system.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the lagoon are lovely. I changed to a room that had a tub, since the first one only had...

We chose the Cambria Suites because we are always searching for new hotels to experience. Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights after a scare from the Front Office manager e-mailing us that our reservation was cancelled.

Check in was easy, we had a package delivered for us prior to arrival and this was handled without a problem.

The hotel has ample parking spaces, it is modern, clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and the lake view room very attractive.

We were expecting the actual room to be larger (named as a suite, but was more of a studio), but is was adequate for 2 guests.
The bed was very comfortable and the elevator very quick.

I would recommend this hotel for pre-cruise stays, lay overs or as an airport hotel (without the usual hectic airport surroundings or noise). Without a car it would be very difficult to stay at this property as a vacation accommodation as there is nothing within walking distance.
For the price I would expect breakfast to be included as well.
All in all, it was a good experience.

Room Tip: Ask for a Lake view room.

I stayed here on march 9-10, and had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location is not to far from the airport, but it was a little confusing getting to because of all the never ending construction in Miami. The lobby area is nice, and the dining area overlooking the water is beautiful. The room/bathroom was very clean, and the two double beds was very comfortable. I've stayed at the Hampton Inn and the Hyatt House which are nearby before, but this hotel ranks above them. Only downside for me, is that they don't offer any free breakfast, and the tv could of been larger with more channels available.

We spent one night here before embarking on a cruise. The facility is brand new and everything seems to be well run.

There were no problems or issues of any kind but $275 per night was a little pricey..

Breakfast buffet is available but is not complementary. I opted for coffee whic is free and a reasonably priced muffin.

Room Tip: A lake view room is quiet and the view is pretty nice.

This is a brand new hotel and typical of the Cambria Suites. Decor is modern, hotel is clean, staff attentive. The location is a plus or a negative depending on what you want. It is situated on a lake with
a beautiful pool and terrace. It is very quiet and lovely. The downside is there is nothing around it for restaurants or shopping. The van will take you but when the hotel is crowded, not sure how reliable that will be.

Restaurant is limited but the food in the even is well prepared and not terribly expensive. The breakfast buffet is another matter. It is not included and for $13.00 is way overpriced. I would rate it on par with lower chain hotels that offer complimentary breakfast.

The hotel does not yet have a safe available at the hotel desk.

If you are here for anything more than a one night pre cruise...you really need a car.

Problem with Cambria Suites Miami Blue Lagoon

Reservation made via delta airlines website clearly stating breakfast is included in stay. Despite providing manager with proof of free breakfast statments, the charges were not removed from bill. This is an extremely poor display of customer service, leaving our party with an extreme distates of the brand. Hotel lobby provides zero signage denoting charge for breakfast. Two other couples were also having the same issue with the front desk not seeing a resolution. Even complimentary coffee has no signage other than a price list.

We stayed at Cambria the night before our cruise. You couldn't tell it was brand new. Check in was slow, and the receptionist at the front desk was (I hope) training, because she had to ask her manager a ton of questions while checking me in. The hallways are not routinely vacuumed, not disgusting, but a lot of random lint (which was there when we got in at 8pm, still there at 11pm, and hadn't been vacuumed up by 7am). Room service trays are not quickly whisked away from outside the room, and we had to play frogger while attempting to get to our room). Our room was as expected, clean with a sofa and king bed. Room 311. We ordered room service, it was pretty bad. The cheeseburger was nearly raw, the club sandwich toast was burnt and drowning in mayo, and the pb&j was noticeably missing a lot of pb and j. We did not receive napkins or silverware. We ended up using washcloths. The air conditioning in the room didn't work right, and it remained warm in our room. The curtains on the window do not close (very very strange) and the very bright lights from the parking lot shine right into the room, and into your eyes when in the right spot. The perfect spot for the light to shine into your eyes was.... You guessed it, when you were in the bed with your head on the pillow. Random things in the room where already broken, like the vases in the partition were at some point, glued to the partition so they couldn't move and fall down on someone, they are now just perched on the ledge in the glue spot and just teetering there. Yes the room was clean, and ok for the money, but they are still either working the kinks out, need to train their employees better, or don't care...
