We stayed just one night pre-cruise and enjoyed the spacious, clean modern room. Plenty of space with sofa area and second large TV. Coffee machine was good. Bed very comfortable.
Our restaurant experience was poor, with desperately slow food and drink service. The bar tender didn't appear to know how to make the Mojito on the cocktail menu and the 2 efforts were spectacularly bad, although fairly and appropriately removed from the bill. After a very long day travelling from the UK we really needed the efficient, friendly service that we have invariably received in the USA - it wasn't to be. The wait staff were engaging and friendly enough but seemed desperately in need of some very basic training. A good start would be on the basic order of service - welcome; seat; drinks menu; food menu; drinks order; drinks delivery; food order... etc. I do not exaggerate when I say that there was a problem/delay at every single stage.
The food was, eventually, very good. Chicken lollipops were tasty and the burger was delicious - inexplicably the waitress initially thought we wanted our main courses (entrees) before the starters (appetisers) but sorted it out. The staff are clearly trying and a small amount of training/experience should resolve the issues. This hotel would then become an excellent choice.
