One of my first measurements of what to expect, is when you first walk in, is the amount of customers seated. I must say that it was practically empty, I knew right away what possibly might be coming :(
With that said, it took a very long time before anyone approached our table, bad sign again. OK, The restaurant cuisine is a mixture tapa sized dishes with a Pan-Latin flair, which there are many in the South Florida area. I rate the first plates average to good, the octopus was over charred a bit but tasty, the ceviche Nikkei was mediocre at best, as a person who knows seafood, the problem with this dish was that the tuna was a very low grade , very light in color. the arroz choufa which is like a Peruvian- Chinese style fried rice was good. for the main course me and my wife shared the arroz con mariscos, which is a seafood mixed rice, it had one piece of scallop, one or two shrimp and some calamari pieces, average at best. I also ordered the truffle fries, disappointed. also the parmesean spinach, also disappointed. For dessert we had the crema catalana, which is basically a crème brulee, this was good, not your usual crème brulee.
I will say that the ambience is not bad, and our server , a student from Slovakia was courteous and caring, which made it more pleasant. But in my opinion , management must really take a step back and prepare a new game plan. I mean the chef has a good reputation, but obviously he isn't there, just his name. location is mainly the new up and coming area of downtown Miami, although the Inter-Continental Hotel has been there a long time, but mostly frequented by tourist from abroad. Prices were fair but not up to par with the quality. Maybe they had a bad night, I see potential and will probably give them another chance, only because of the waiter.
