We are from the Dallas,Texas area and were meeting some friends from London, England in Ft Lauderdale for a few days before they left on a Caribbean cruise. My husband and I have been to Florida several times but never visited the Everglades. We were very excited when we asked our friends from the UK what they wanted to see and do in Florida before they left on their cruise and they responded, shop and go to the Everglades! We wanted a private tour so we first called a large park in the Everglades trying to book a private tour. The large tourist park said they usually do private tours but were booked solid due to all of the cruise ships from Miami and Ft Lauderdale. They gave us the name of Captain Greg Brown & Son's Everglades Private Airboat Tours. We called Captain Greg before we left Dallas and made our reservations. Captain Greg was extremely helpful and informative about their services. He gave us explicit directions and information on what to bring, wear, and exactly where to meet our Captain on the morning of our reservation. Captain Greg also followed up with all of this information via email to confirm all of the details. We arrived early to the destination and Captain Greg's son, David, was there to meet us as planned. We got settled onto the boat and were given some final information and were off for our tour. We saw several alligators, birds, and many different types of wildlife. Captain David (Greg's son) was extremely informative and very knowledgeable of the Everglades' plants, trees, flowers, and all of the wildlife! We had a fabulous private tour just for the four of us and were able to see several alligators up close and personal! We were not disappointed and our friends from London were VERY impressed! I highly recommend Captain Greg Brown & Sons for that personalized tour of the Everglades, especially if you enjoy that one on one experience and like to avoid the touristy large groups. The price of our tour with Captain Greg's also got us into Safari Park which is less than 5 miles from the site where we disembarked the airboat. We had a great lunch at the park after we finished our private tour with Captain Greg's.
