For a small entrance fee you can walk around the grounds, through the mangroves, go into the houses, or it is a place you may want to take a picnic and sit by the water for the day. It is relaxing and enjoyable.
This is Palmetto Bays best kept secret. Take the kids and relax or just sit by the bay and see why it is a jewel by the bay.. If you can get on their website and attend their incredible events (Seafood Festival, Valentine Concert, etc) and you will be in for a real treat FYI a very good friend of mine was married there about 20 years ago and it has just gotten better with age. A must for locals and tourists alike.
Don't go during the rainy season, too many mosquitoes to contend with, The grounds were well kept and the home worth seeing,, but it would be nice to have the facilities air conditioned for tourist comfort.
Just south of Coral Gables is this fascinating estate. Very much worth the visit. The grounds are immaculate and the home was decorated for the holidays. Don't miss the wine cellar dating form the days of prohibition.
If you like to visit historical sites, this is for you. Small estate with beautiful views and 2 historical homes. One has been rebuilt as it was destroyed in hurricane Andrew. Great walk through mangroves.
