This rather bleak district is best explored by car as the galleries and collections are quite far apart.Don`t be put off by the exteriors of many of the buildings, inside are some wonderfully outrageous and exciting works of art.The best way to find out what is going on, where ,and when, is to get copy of ArtGuide Florida. Our favorite private collection(free entry) is The De La Cruz at 23 N.E. 41st Street...an elegant building (one of the few)with a wide variety of great modern art. When you have exhausted your self looking at art go across the street from the collection and enjoy a delightful respite in the new BSweet Coffee Shop at 20 NE 41st. We sat outside under the trees and enjoyed really good desserts and coffee.Sandwiches and nice salads with interesting names like Hold Me Tight(tuna in a wrap) and Mixed Emotions(lettuces, corn, pecans, avacado, and oriental noodles) are also served. And one can look back across the street at the De La Cruz and contemplate the good things about art and life
