“Nice downtown hotel, used to be better, though”

We returned to The Four Seasons as we have kept some extraordinary memories of outstanding service from our past stays years ago. Well, the Service at the front desk and concierge is still perfect, but we badly missed a chef in the restaurant for breakfast. The servers were very busy conducting their conversations in the kitchen although we were only a few guests. Also the poolside service was a bit tired. Maybe it was the stress of Art Basel in Miami, but definitively, it was not up to the high standards of Four Seasons we like so much!

I read the recent reviews ahead of my 5 days stay at this hotel. I was somewhat surprised that service was reported to have taken a hit and the funishings looked old. I did not see or experience any of this. I went in the interim between Thanksgiving and Christmas. The hotel was full due to a business meeting, but the public spaces and the pool were empty. I noticed an improved service quality at the pool. In past visits, it was hard to get help for food or drink. This obviuosly cost the property revenue and upset guests. There was no problem this time--staff was plentiful, helpful and eager to make our stay excellent. The dining venuse (Edge) continues to be a great asset. The deck is now covered and it is a great place to eat in the morning. Rooms were well appointed--my furnishings did not appear old and worn as others had commented. Room service and housekeeping were professional and timely. They have switched their toiletries from L'Occitaine to a local brand that was very good.

Overall, excellent stay, look forward to returning next year.

First the pros:
1. The hotel restaurant and rooms were updated about 2 1/2 years ago. They're both much more attractive.
2. Rooms are now really FS-worthy: Large, great bath with superb water pressure. They're now done in a semi-tropical contemporary style that works in Miami.
3. Sports Club LA consistently delivers a great gym experience.
4. Beautiful pool complex - off of the sky lobby with a great long pool for laps and an adult wading pool for lounging. Not the Delano or National, but a cut above the Mandarin Miami.
5. Great art - from the Boteros to Hernan Bas.
The cons - just a few:
1. The service in the restaurant/bar both at breakfast and dinner was erratic at best. Team seemed overwhelmed at breakfast (i.e. 40 minutes to get eggs when only about 1/2 full) and at dinner, the pacing was odd, the servers distracted and almost indifferent. Not what one expects - or generally gets at FS.
2. The scale of the property may not be for everyone - while beautiful, everything is almost to over-scaled to be comfortable. Even when busy, the lobby and pool areas can feel a little desolate.
3. While south Brickell is booming again - it's not really a cohesive residential area, there's not much that's within easy walking distance.

My wife and I recently spend a couple of nights at the Four Seasons. The building/grounds are impeccable. Our room was absolutely beautifully decorated and the place was spotless! Everyone that works there is friendly/polite and they all make you feel right at home!
We ate breakfast there both mornings and it was delicious. Natacha at the concierge desk is absolutely wonderful in helping you out with restaurants or things to do! We would definitely stay there again.

Enjoyed a weekend at the Four Seasons, in town to watch the NFL game. Overall, had another great 4S stay (chain has become my go-to choice whenever possible), with just a couple of glitches to share with hope that things will continue to improve.

Pros:
- Great location if you're not keen on being at the beach; quiet, safe area
- Great views of the bay
- Rooms were typical high-quality, reasonably quiet
- Bar is relaxed and fun
- The bar had happy hour every day from 5-7; hard to complain about 50% of drinks, $1 oysters
- Walking distance to lots of great restaurants
- Easy drive/taxi downtown
- Valet service was fast and efficient; didn't have any of the issues of some other reviewers
- Pools look great; didn't use them, but wish we had

Cons
- Breakfast at the restaurant wasn't great; took forever to get anything a la carte, and there were lots of issues that shouldn't happen like overcooked bacon (3 times!), bland sides and forgotten items; they gave us credit, but the experience was still a let-down.
- The house car (Tesla) was beautiful, but never available when we wanted it; oh well.
- Room cleaning did seem to take a while; we showed up one day at 5 after being away since the morning, and it wasn't ready until 5:30

All in all, good place would definitely stay again (but find a better local breakfast spot!)

A Five Star experience in all aspects of the hotel's available services. We had to use the event planning services, dining services, wine list recommendations and all were exceptional. We travel extensively and rarely do you find a staff where you get an 100% participation by all staff to insure excellence in service. Exceptional!

Great business hotel in the heart of the financial district. Service was impeccable. We were pleased with the service at edge steakhouse. Joanna our server there was very polite and attentive. She went above and beyond to make sure we had the best meal and wine pairing in the house. We will definitely be back for a longer stay.
