“Great experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2013

I was born in Callao, Peru. I must say calle ocho is very similar to it. I walked in the dominoes park, there was a lot of people playing. It's a very hispanic place. There was a lot of salsa on the streets. I found this man playing a "bongo" and another man dancing. I had bought a pair of maracas so I started playing them next to these men. It was very fun. I would recommend everyone to go at noon or else you won't find any attraction

“fun and cultural”

very cool drive down calle ocho. The colorfully pained murals are beautiful! People were friendly and we had some great black beans and rice, plantains and cuban sandwich!

“Little Havana in Miami Magical”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013

Everytime we visit Miami we visit Calle Ocho. A cigar and a cafe leche makes the visit perfect. Pick a spot any spot and don't forget to pick up some Cuban bread and some pastelito. Check out the domino club and see how the pros play.

“Calle Ocho 8th St. not the Calle Ocho street festival.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013 via mobile

While the Calle Ocho street festival (carnival) is a mob, about 1 million people, stages with music from the Caribbean and Latin America and people flaunting their country of origin.
The rest of the time Calle Ocho (8th st.) is a Little Havana neighborhood and largely Cuban culture. Art galleries, restaurants and nightclubs playing Salsa, Son, Merengue & Reggaeton. Viernes Cultural you will see live bands and dancing in the street.

“If you're into that kind of thing”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

If you're into fights, public display of drunkenness, groping, and just overall controlled chaos, then calle ocho is for you. Otherwise, I suggest you stay home.

It is too bad because the food is great and the music is good, but I'll pass on the other stuff. All it takes is a small few to ruin it for everyone else.
