“Excellent location, great rooms and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2009

This hotel was great! Coconut Grove is one of the most fun places in Miami; there are tons of bars, great restaurants, and a nice, bohemian sort of vibe to the neighborhood. I will say that the nightlife is pretty active on the weekends, and you can sometimes hear the music from the clubs (which don't close until 5am), but it's not too loud. I just put the TV on when I wanted to go to sleep and didn't even hear any music. So once again, it didn't bother me, but if you have really sensitive hearing or need a silent room to sleep in, it might bother you.

However, the hotel rooms were super nice. I stayed in a suite, which was very clean, comfortable, and pretty modern (not the most modern hotel I've ever stayed in, but it had flat screens at least).

Service was excellent, from the valet to the concierge. The concierge even called one of the restaurants he recommended to us to buy us dessert there.

The location is outstanding, once again. You're a one and a half minute walk from the center of Coconut Grove. So if you're looking for a fun place in Miami that's not too crazy (a la South Beach) then the Sonesta is a great choice.

unbelieveable! Went to the Resturant on 8th and what a meal and service. I will always

We really liked this hotel - it offers a number of room options e.g. large rooms and apartments, which suited all the various needs of our party. The view over the bay is just beautiful and with the pool, restaurant and bar on the 8th floor its very relaxing to sit and enjoy the view. The staff could not do enough for us and gave us some very helpful tips for restaurants, getting about etc. Coconut Grove is not big on highlife but there are a number of really nice restaurants in the area and if you are looking for a relaxing place in Miami, this is it.

Stayed here for two nights while attending a wedding at a nearby hotel. Although staffing seemed light, I always received prompt and good service. Rooms are really quite nice, and are comparable to the lower end of boutique hotels -- not to say that the rooms aren't very clean and updated, which they are. The pool has a great view of Biscayne Bay and was a breeze to use. A good number of restaurants and shops are all within a few blocks' walk.

We arrived late at nigth and were treated like royalty.
Our room was fantastic and we were all very happy. Very clean and beautifull.
Next morning I went to the gym to do my workout, also very nice, Later: Breakfast, again pleasantly surpriced, our kids were exstatic, and so were we.
So sad we had to leave after only one night.
Shame the valet parking is $ 23.

I absolutely loved our stay. This is a high class hotel, but we were able to get a suite for an amazing price. I actually saw a price online but then called because I really was hoping for a deal that would include breakfast and parking. They ended up giving both to us as part of the deal. Everyone was so accommodating. The rooms and the view are gorgeous. All the staff was wonderful.

The beds are beautiful and so comfortable. The bathrooms were large and the soaps smelled wonderful. (A nice delicant scent.) All the rooms have huge plasma televisions. We had a view of the bay, looking out on sail boats. It was just wonderful.

Our breakfast included just the cold buffet, which had lots of yogurt, fruit, cereals, pastries as well as cheese and deli meat. The warm buffet (which was overpriced at $19) was very well stocked with mini omlettes, pancakes, bacon, sausage, etc. We ended up just taking a $10 credit and ordering off the menu. The french toast with sauteed bananas and mangos and topped with berries and orange maple syrup might have been the best breakfast I ever had.

We did spend a lot on tips. However, I believe it is always appropriate to tip people for service. We always tipped the valet and bell hop. That's just standard for service to me. I would say we got an amazing value, but this hotel can be very pricy so it might not always be someplace I can stay in the future.

The staff was always friendly and welcoming and we even got a free late check out. Everything here was perfect.

Stayed here one night for a Cuise departure the following day. Looked at several Hotels in the area and Miami Beach area also. The price of this Hotel compared to other Hotels of similar comfort/style is very reasonable. We were very impressed by this Hotel, friendliness of the staff, cleaniness of the entire Hotel and room. We also got upgraded to a Superior room for free. Would recommend this Hotel however the only downfall was the price of the breakfast, $50 for two people we thought was rather expensive.
