The hotel is great-looking, in a good location if you want to hang out in "the Grove", or are going to the U of Miami. Try to get a high floor room facing the bay. I had a "city view" suite with a great wrap-around balcony, only problem was noise from the bars at night. It's a long drive to South Beach mainly because of traffic. If you're going to be going there a lot I would stay closer next time.

Traveling on business and stayed here, as it was recommended by our travel agent. Great location, but the room was very small, but had a walk-in closet that seems to be wasted space. There was VERY little natural light making the room very dark. The biggest issue was the lack of feeling safe...the door did not have any type of chain/bolt on the door. The balcony is shared, so very concerning and the door to the balcony (can't really even call it a balcony, might be 6 sq feet) did not close very tightly so let in a lot of outside noise.

Bottom line would not recommend and will be looking for another alternative for a hotel in the area.

clean, very miami. enjoyed john and caesar in the skyroom bar. very friendly and open. great shower and bath, good pressure and hot water. no complaints at all. close to everything. i really dont know what more you could want other than a $700 per night room where everyone treats you like a monarch, which is fine and very well done by the ritz for instance, but for a real life feeling of comfort and relaxation with no airs...this is a great place.

One morning they forgot to bring breakfast to my room. On the deck they were slow to take my order. Not apologies. No explanations. No concern. This is just the way they do things at the Sonesta Bayfront Hotel.
