“Best experience ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2013

My experience in this hotel was great !!! I love this hotel, the price is high but worth every penny .
I stayed here long time ago for almost 2 month .
Very safe place to stay far from busy Miami life .
In Miami you need a car to go around so if you stayed here the car with cost you parking like 20US and more .

This hotel is excellent in so many ways. First the location on a small island in the very center of downtown Miami allows it to be "in the hub" and "detached" at the same time. Brickell Key is a very high end location and the hotel takes full advantage of that. Next the hotel is contemporary and elegant with a stunning lobby area of high ceilings and full walls of windows looking out at the Miami skyline. The rooms are large (around 400 square feet), superbly maintained, beautifully designed, and are roughly priced according to desired view preferences. But the most impressive thing about this hotel was the level of service of the staff. All people we dealt with from bellmen, front desk staff, restaurant staff, pool staff, housekeepping, were all well trained and truly professional in their various jobs. Management should be commended for crafting a staff this good. The small private "beach" area is truly an urban oasis and was delightful. The Azul restaurant was also wonderful with a very nice menu and made for a great dinner experience. I love hotels that pay attention to the small details of hotel operations as much as the principal ones and in this regard M.O. Miami impressed me time and again. Breakfast was being served in the lobby bar area as the usual restaurant was being redone. However, you would have never known that anything was different as things certainly didn't looked "temporary". The quality of the buffet was excellent and worth adding to your room rate when booking. Yes this is an expensive property but it was worth every cent in my opinion.

My company held a conference here and I have been back to stay since on a business trip. All in all pretty faultless. The quality of service is what really sets this hotel apart because the decor can feel a little bit retro. The location is spectacular and feels set apart from downtown Miami. It feels like a top class resort hotel right next to Brickell avenue. Perfect for business because you can escape work in the evening.

We just got back from a 5 day stay here and it was what a five star hotel is all about. Aside from being very elegant with spacious rooms, our view was nothing other then stellar. I highly recommend getting the view of the downtown area as a night it is picture perfect. My wife celebrated her birthday and no detail was left out. I pre ordered some details for the room and when we arrived everything was set just as I wanted. The staff are friendly and make if a point to call you by name, and everyone we came in contact with here always had a nice smile. We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

Stayed here for business for a couple of nights. Not much to add to the expectation of excellence (which was met in all areas), except that you should know in advance that this hotel is truly in the city of Miami. That means it is in an urban setting. It sits on the bay, so it is somewhat removed from the urban hustle. Yes, it has a nice pool, but there are no beaches, and the views are of either the bay in one direction, or the city scape in the other.
The rooms are perfect in every detail. The food was just great. The service was professional from the front desk to the poolside wait staff.
I've stayed in the Mandarin Oriental hotels in various cities in the USA and abroad. You just can't go wrong with this extraordinary chain.

I am fan of the Mandarin Oriental brand with the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong perhaps my favorite hotel. The brand excels in luxurious modern design and service. The Miami Mandarin is another very attractive property with all of their subtle Asian influences. It was always going to appeal to me by having a Shanghai Tang boutique on site which I think is now perhaps the only one in the US. We stayed with our child in a 6th floor Deluxe Veranda Room. Again it was a very attractive room with the nice design touch of the bath looking into the sleeping area via a large opening (looks better than the way I describe it...). Beautiful sweeping view of the Bay and Miami city (versus South Beach). Ours was a brief visit to break up a drive down to the Keys so we really only had time to enjoy our room and breakfast the following morning in the their lobby restaurant. If you will spend some time either as a family or romantically I think a view such as we had is well worth the money. Based on my previous Miami experiences within the middle of the nightlife districts, I can see distinct advantages to be being able to restreat the short distance to the island on which the hotel is located with its zen-like soothing atmosphere (a good contrast to the action). Room service and breakfast were both very good as would be expected.

Our visit did however coincide with a run of bad luck for the hotel for a couple of different services... The fire alarm on our floor activated early in the evening due to a technical error, the inroom movie services encountered some issues and a dish was forgotten from a room service order. Quite the number of department managers called us to apologize and it was pretty obvious that they were horrified at the combination of events. Their response to these issues was very satisfactory with various adjustments and I do believe it was an unusual combination of events. Without these factors I am pretty sure I would have given five stars or if the system allowed at perhaps four and a half even with events.
