Everything at the Mandarin is was above and beyond excellent!!! The staff, and I mean all the staff we encountered were professional, helpful, and courteous. Can't say enough good things about the Cafe Sambal staff and the food, oh my!!!!! If we make it back to Miami, this is our spot.

I have been a regular visitor of this hotel for the last 5 years, but no longer. Not sure what has gone wrong, but this property does not live up to the Mandarin Oriental standard. From the moment we entered on our most recent visit service was sorely lacking and very much sub-par.

Negatives: The hotel has been overrun by black crows, which like to bathe in the Mandarin pool in the afternoon. Spa service was generally unfriendly and lacking professionalism (aside from one male staff member), very mediocre massage, no privacy in changing area by cleaning staff, definitely not worth the cost of service or what you expect when visiting an ESPA spa. No help with bags to/from room/at check out. Change in clientele, lots of screaming children.

Positives: All pool staff, all breakfast staff. Food.

I stayed here for while was in town for the Madonna concert. Hotel is very modern, large and clean. The room was large with a nice balcony with chairs. Excellent view. I wasn't a fan of the open bathroom/room concept where toy can look into the bathroom from the bedroom. For the price you pay for the room I would at least expect the wifi to be included.

Fantastic views, beautiful room, relaxing pool, service beyond anything, 8 star hotel is the way we would rate it. Very romantic

I had the breakfast buffet on a Monday a.m. which was very good and worh the price especially if you like Lox. When I asked about sunny side up eggs and a worker said no, the manager must have heard this and immediately ran up to me and offered to provide this to me with no problem.

We had spent a few days at the Loewes in Miami Beach which was really noisy so it was a joy to get to the Mandarin Oriental and be able to actually relax.

The hotel is located on Brickell Key, a tiny private island that's linked to the mainland by a short road. So, you get the luxury of being away from the hustle and bustle of the city whilst at the same time being able to walk (or get a free shuttle) to the mainland. Within a mile or so, you'll find Mary Brickell Village where there are countless restaurants, bars, clothing stores and a supermarket.

We had a very spacious room with a big bathroom and a great balcony with a view across to the city.

The pool is not the biggest you've ever seen but it was never packed and it was just really comfortable and relaxing. The staff on hand were great and there was plenty of complimentary water and fruit to keep you hydrated. There is also a man made beach with it's own iguanas which is a nice touch and even more relaxing as few people seem to use it. Obviously there's no swimming there but the pool is close by if you want a dip.

My only gripe is that I don't think hotels should be charging for wifi when you spend a fortune on a room.

I've been going to Miami for over a decade to play for a long weekend. My first experience at the Mandarin Oriental Miami was a pleasant one. You definitely feel like your in the Caribbean if you have a room facing the ocean or if you're lounging at the pool.

Rooms are huge by the standards in Miami, and each room has a decent size balcony. Unfortunately because of all the black birds the balconies can be used as a restroom by our feathered friends. I suggest the hotel get some hawks to patrol the premise.

Room service was quick, but the food was definitely not worth the money.

The staff was amazing from beginning to end, so if service is your number one priority this is a place for you.

Be aware it's a $30 cab ride to South Beach, so if you're a big Lincoln Road or night club person, you may want to look for a hotel in Collins Ave.

Spent 4 nights in Miami and could not have had a better place to stay. Brickell Key location kept everything we were interested in within easy reach. Golf, the beaches, and some of the best restaurants in the South, make that US.
We did not want for anything - all we had to do was ask, my "tag-a-long" even had itineraries for days I worked planned out by the staff (I think).
