If you are visiting the Everglades, or passing through the area, I would highly recommend this tour. As many of the reviewers have said, the guides for these tours are incredible; very knowledgeable of the history of the Everglades, the ecology, and the local fauna. Over the course of the two-hour tour you will learn all about how the Everglades came to be, how they are currently threatened, and what’s being done to alleviate threats to the delicate ecosystem. You’ll also see a tremendous amount of alligators, as well as many types of herons, ibis, and egrets. The trams are covered which is an added bonus considering that it’s hard to find shade in the Everglades, and at least on the day I was there strong wind wiped through the tram, making the humidity easily bearable. It is possible to bike the Shark Valley loop, but I’d definitely go with the Tram – there’s a lot to learn about this National Park, and you’ll want to be able to view the surroundings rather than concentrate on not steering your bike into an alligator hole.
