“Attentive and Professional Service...First Rate Hotel...Clean and Comfy Everywhere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2009

My family just stayed in this hotel in order to save money in a location "off the beach". We were pleasantly surprised by the look and feel of the hotel's interior. It has open and comfortable common areas with a grand staircase leading from the lobby to the 2nd level where the gym, meeting room, and dining room is located. The pool area is large with a heated pool and hot tub. You can also watch the planes landing and taking off at the airport if you have a northern view. We did not hear the planes from the rooms so the windows must be sound proofed. The rooms felt brand new and the bedding was great. The staff was extremely professional and very pleasant. The location turned out to be a plus because we did not have to deal with "beach traffic". We have 3 kids so we stayed in a suite with a kitchen and a living room with a pull out couch. The staff brought in a small crib and roll away bed to make sure each child had a comfortable stay. Very impressive. The hot breakfast items were different each day (5 days) we were there and there was always fresh fruit and coffee available throughout the day. There are 3 computers for your use which we used to print our boarding passes prior to our return flight. There is also a small "store" that sold commonly used toiletries, drinks, and snacks. I would definetely recommend this hotel to anyone that is on a budget and does not mind driving 10-15 minutes to the beach. It is a well managed and enjoyable hotel.

We chose this hotel based on the reviews posted and agree with all the good posts. We stayed her before our cruise, coming into Miami on a Friday night and leaving on Saturday for the cruise. The airport pickup worked out great, didn't have to wait too long at all. The room was spacious and clean and just perfect for the night/next am. The kids went to the pool early and we really enjoyed it, had the place to ourselves. Breakfast was very good and very well attended. No problem getting a cab to the port either....for a family of 4 this was the least expensive way to go. If ever in Miami, I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I was a confirmed quest whose business and travel plans changed at the last moment, but the staff were understanding and accommodating when I was forced to cancel the reservation. In addition, a very important document was sent via courier to the hotel for me to recieve, and after a phone call to explain, the front desk attendant, namely Rodney Rodriquez, recieved the package on my behalf, stored it until I could get to the hotel to pick it up, and would not take anything for his time and efforts. This kind of employee is rare and a real asset to your establishment.

We recenty stayed here before our 7 day Caribbean cruise (March 14-21) leaving from the port of Miami. We flew in the day prior to the cruise (Friday) and got the free hotel shuttle from the airport. We didn't have to wait long and the driver was very friendly and attentive. Check-in at the hotel was fast and easy, and we were able to sign up for the shuttle to the port of Miami on Saturday at check-in time. Our room was clean and very nice, and we had a nice view of Blue Lagoon and Miami airport. Once we were settled, we walked across the street to the shopping center and various fast food places. We got a few last minute items at Walgreens and headed back to the hotel where we sat by the pool. For dinner, we went to Pollo Tropical which is a block from the hotel. The food there was good and not too expensive. There is a Publix supermarket in the shopping center if a person wanted to get food and bring back to the hotel. The next morning we had the free continental breakfast at the hotel and enjoyed it very much. Good selections and quite plentiful. We also liked the fruit, cookies, and hot beverages available throughout the day and evening. Transport to the port went smoothly and only cost us $10 per person (company not affiliated with the hotel). All in all, it was a very good experience and we would stay there again if cruising from Miami. Good value for the money and excellent customer service.

We stayed 2 separate nights at the Hampton Inn - Blue Lagoon, coming in late on a flight then 2 weeks later taking an early flight home. The staff were great, they checked us in quickly, answered our questions and gave great directions to Miami Beach. For our second stay, and since we are Hampton Inn club members, they upgraded our room to a 1 bedroom suite. We weren't at the hotel long enough to enjoy the pool but we did eat breakfast there 2x. There breakfast was quite varied and good and they even will provide you a sack breakfast to take with you if you're in a hurry. I would totally stay here again!.

Brilliant in every way! Free airport shuttle every half-hour, attentive and helpful staff, super room, free business centre (plus in room wi-fi), included breakfast. We had two one-night stays en route to and from Central America. On our second stay we had even been given the room which on our outward trip my wife had suggested would be slightly better. On our return, we had time to spare, so the fitness centre and the guest laundry were both very useful.
The shopping mall acraoss the street has a supermarket, three restaurants and two 24-hr drugstores as well as several other shops. In addition there are three fast food places and 300yds down the road, another smarter restaurant - although we didn't get to eat there,

I read the reviews and used this place to layover before our cruise. It was about an hour wait for the free shuttle to come. The hotel is next to some fast food places and a strip mall, so shopping for pre-cruise items was a snap. There's a $10 PP shuttle fee to the ship port (in a van with 8 other people), which is way too much because it was only a $25 cab ride. We just shared a cab.
The hotel itself was ok, definitely not new. the room had 2 queen beds, the carpet had seen better days. Breakfast in the am was below Hampton standards I thought. The pool was small but fine, the whirlpool was broken. The workout room was decent, but didn't have any treadmills, and some of the weight machines were broken.
There was nothing going on near the place after dark, and I don't think I'd venture out to far to look around.
All in all, if I had to do it again I'd just take a cab straight from the airport to a hotel by the port and stay overnight there.
