“Nice clean hotel with restaurants right across the street”

If you're waiting for the shuttle - watch for the Blue Lagoon van - not the same as other Hampton Inn locations. This is good place to stay when in transit thro' Miami. It's clean and comfortable, easy check-in, nice hot breakfast, and coffee and fruit available all day. It's c=across the street from a good strip mall with several decent restaurants. the shuttle is great, once you manage to flag it down. AND, when the lock on our suit case had been damaged by TSA, a guy with metal cutters came right away to cut the lock off.

Hampton Inn & Suites Miami-Airport South-Blue Lagoon is a member of the Hilton's chain. After having a very satisfactory stay in Hampton Inn & Suites, Herndon-Reston, Washinton DC we decided to to stay in another member of the chain in Miami. Unfortunately Hampton Inn & Suites Miami-Airport South-Blue Lagoon was a mediocre and impersonal hotel. But it has a very unusual practice of charging deposit after checking out. The following quote is taken from hotel's Front Office Manager of Hampton Inn & Suites Miami Airport-Blue Lagoon in response to my inquiry to the Hilton Guest Assistance Team regarding my hotel billing:
Quote Upon any guest(s) check-in, the hotel obtains a "credit authorization"
to cover the entire room and tax cost for the stay, as well as a 15%
overage for possible incidental charges or damages to the room. In
your case this amount was $801.74.

At time of your check-out your billing total was $774.05, which is the
amount we sent to your bank requesting the payment. Once your bank has
paid out to the hotel that amount, the additional $27.69 will be
available for your use. Unquote

Recently renovated from top to bottom, this hotel has several features I liked. - Quiet van and lobby (rather than the blaring music so common in Miami). - Plenty of easily-accessible outlets at work desk. - Digital thermostat. - Large bathroom counter and mirror. - Walking distance from drugstores, supermarket and restaurants. - Cleaner than other hotels in Miami in this price range. - Room rate includes wi-fi, breakfast, and airport transportation. ONE CAVEAT: I never saw a bellman there, but the van driver got me a luggage trolley. If you are unable to handle your own luggage, you might want to call the hotel first to see if they can provide special assistance.

My wife and i have stayed at this hotel several times it's close to the airport and has a courtsey shuttle bus after a long flight you can relax and be ready to travel onwards the next day also there is a managers welcome drink (Mon-Thur) which is a nice touch all the rooms we have stayed in ahve benn good and we have never had any other problems during our overnights,

We spent one night at this hotel and was surprised how clean and quiet it was. The complimentary hot breakfast was a plus as we had a long day of driving ahead of us. We were very happy to find the secured parking lot on the 2nd level where the pool and jacuzzi was. The security guard was very helpful along with the gentleman at the check in counter. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to all my friends who want a safe, clean, quiet hotel close to the airport. I would have preferred a room facing the lake and not the car park. The air conditioner seemed to be set at one standard temperature and I woke up feeling a little hot. I can't remember if my room mate adjusted it to a cooler temperature. I loved the fact that there was coffee, tea, cocoa available throughout the night in the lobby especially for those who may check in late.

everything was excellent, well worth it, the staff was great the rooms were clean and the breakfast was very good. definitely worth the price for the ameneties offered. I would highly recommend it for business trips and family gatherings or just to hang out with friends it was a great price

I searched the web for a hotel where my husband & I could leave our car while on a one week cruise in and out of Miami over this past Thanksgiving, and in addition that my children and their families could get shuttle service from MIA to the hotel. Along with this Miami Sunshine shuttle service provided excellent service to and from the port of Miami, back to the hotel or airport which was very reasonably priced. I cannot say enough good things about the Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon and will definitely choose them again on my next cruise out of Miami.
