“Cheap good sleep Miami”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2010

Hi
We did 3 three night stay in Miami. The question was either to stay in one of the overprized hotels at Miami Beach or find one more budget and still good. My choise came to the Hampton Inn Coconut Grove. Good location, easy to reach from the airport, "FREE PARKING" (very important considering the high parking fees at Miami Beach).
The Hotel was good Hampton standard - clean with a remodeled bath room. Bed was also good and what else do you want. You have your Hampton breakfast (if you like or dislike) and some evenings a manager reception with snacks and beverages.
The value for money is great.

Great service. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Nice place, quiet and safe.

We stayed here for four days during our Florida Vacation. We booked this hotel through booking.com and checking in went fast and the prices were as booked. From here we went to Miami (Beach), Fort Lauderdale and the Everglades (we rented a car for our whole vacation). The hotel was very good, bathroom was big enough, very clean and there were enough towels. The beds are also good. And last but not least: the breakfast was outstanding! We didn't expect too much of it because we're in America, but it was very good! The only thing we were disappointed about was that the pool & jacuzzi were closed for renovations, but after the four days we realized we didn't really miss it because we we're on the road the whole day!

I travel a lot for business and have stayed at many Hampton Inn's, but I have not and will not stay at a Hampton Inn again. This hotel has gone down-hill so badly. Management is crazy the shower head is located at the back of the shower in the space a bath tub use to occupy. The wall of the shower is outside of where the bathtub wall would have been this makes it impossible to reach in and turn on the water and wait for it to get warm. You have to walk into the shower to turn the shower on and will be sprayed with cold water the hotel has no suggestions on how to avoid this. The food has gone down-hill. The management has a team of "Breakfast Nazi's" that will follow you around and watch what you pick up and put on your plate as to imply that they are counting this is very annoying. Their were gummy and sticky, all over the surfaces that were not the flat top of tables and counters. From the telephone to the drawer knobs to the remote controls everything was filthy. When I spoke to management about my displeasure they told me that they had done their best and that there was nothing else that they could do for me. Hampton Inn has a 100% guarantee if you are not satisfied, but you will never see a dime from this Hampton Inn!

We loved everything about this hotel- except that the beds seemed like doubles instead of queens. Beautiful room, large flat screen tv, wi-fi. Breakfast was the best we ever had at a hotel! My son thought the breakfast was better then we have at restaurants.

This property did not seem like a Hampton Inn. The shower had several hairs in it. After taking a shower, it was easy to understand why. The design of the walk-in shower was awful. I cannot imagine the difficulty it poses for the housekeeping staff. The water faucet is on the far inside -- impossible to reach without getting wet.
With the exception of the duvet, the room really didn't look like a Hampton. The walls were scuffed and needed painting. The furniture was old and worn.
Yes, the parking is free, but you may end up on the lower level (from the street). If so, it is a cramped one-way in/same-way out underground lot. Make sure you unloaded everything you need because you will end up walking back up the ramp to the hotel entry.
I really wish this property was better kept. It is in an interesting area.
The room was large and had a microwave/refrigerator. If you stay in a double room, you'll have a bathtub. That would probably be much cleaner. That's probably the best advice I can give.
