“Better Than Expected”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago NEW

Given all the horrible reviews of this place, I was very leery. In fact, after reading all the horrible reviews, I looked into cancelling my reservation, but it was non cancellable.
So, as you can see, I was expecting that this place would be a disaster. In fact, it turned out to be OK. Not great certainly, but OK, especially for the cheap price. I would actually stay here again.

It is not a place a guy would take a girl to for a romantic getaway, but it is a reasonably decent place to lay your head if you are visiting, or doing business in Miami, and just near a place to crash.

The bathroom in my room actually looked rather modern, like it had been renovated.

The room, while it had rather old furniture, was reasonably OK.

It is clear that the person at the front desk does not care a bit about the hotel's clientele. The place has all the charm of a motor vehicle dept. For example, when I was checking in, two foreign guys came up to the front desk to say that their room only had one single bed rather than two double beds, and the front desk guy simply replied, "well that was the reservation you made", rather than saying "let me move you to a different room".

I think that some of the very positive reviews of this place are very circumspect, because you will notice that most of these people have only done a single review on trip advisor, so I suspect the hotel asked friends too write a positive review for them. That being said, the place was decent. Not good, but decent.

However, they do have a $25 parking fee, payable in advance, so while the price of the room is very low, it is not as low as you might think. That being said, I had told the valet that I would be leaving at 9am the next morning, and my car had already been moved to the front of the building when I walked out of the lobby.

One warning however. There is a lot of construction going on in the streets surrounding the hotel, with many streets blocked off, so just doing a mapquest is really not going to cut it. I probably wandered around in my car for a half hour trying to find a way to get to the hotel, given that so many streets were blocked off.

The hotel is kind of in a rather scuzzy area of downtown Miami, but if you drive two minutes over a little bridge, you suddenly enter the Brickell avenue area, and beautiful office buildings and high rise condos.

For the price we paid it was worth it. Very convenient to stay prior to our cruise.. Room was clean and very big but a bit outdated. It is not the best area but I felt safe. Valet parking is available for$25 if we take another cruise I would stay again.

Minutes away from South Beach, walking distance to the famous Brickell area, excellent service, nice and clean rooms, spectacular views, decent pool half the price of next door hotels. Highly recommended.

Front desk was not the most helpful, but the room was great. Much better interior than the halls would lead you to believe. Shower was better than average.

Craziest part was the loud and confrontational transperson outside. Harmless.

Very well located at Downtown Miami, very near to Bayside and Brickell area, where you can find lots of pretty good bars and restaurants with good music to dance. It was e really good decision to stay in River Park. The service is excellent. Most of the suites have a beautiful view to the Miami River and you can see those large boats that you see in the movies. It's pretty amazing. I recommend you to take advantage of its prices.

Teatro Avante invited 12 theatre companies to present their productions at the 30th International Hispanic Theatre Festival of Miami, July 9-26, 2015.. All groups were housed at the River Park Hotel & Suites, approx. 50 rooms/275 nights. Not a single complaint was recorded from any of them. The groups were happy and very satisfied, and if selected again next year, they would prefer to stay at River Park Hotel & Suites because of its central location (Downtown Miami). comfortable rooms and excellent service.

Room Tip: Reserve early and request your preferences. If available, the hotel will try its best to accommodate...

Most of the past negative reviews are not accurate. Me and wife had a pretty nice stay the night before our cruise on Carnival. The air was out in the lobby, but it had no affect on the room stay. The rooms are huge. It has a pool. Valet guys are kind of expensive. The guys behind the desk are spectacular people, helpful, and down to earth. The hotel is not perfect, but you won't find a lower price on a hotel in this location of Miami. It looks like it was once a luxury hotel back in the day, especially the lobby. Rooms are clean and nice. Beds are just okay, if your are not a stickler for perfection. GET A ROOM ABOVE THE 5TH FLOOR. River view is okay, but view may have construction or junk outside in some rooms. Management has done some upgrades because of past complaints. Very close shopping and restaurants. Hotel is a minute from trains that take you anywhere you want to go. Cabs easy to catch. It has a $6 dollar bus to the Port for cruises. In some room-deals it is free. It is near the Miami Heat arena and a short ride to South Beach, if that's where you are going. Don't second guess. The hotel is very satisfactory for a short stay, and cheap ($50ish bucks on some sites)! It needs a few updates, but every time I want to stay in Miami I will check in here instead of paying 200 plus dollars for hotels next door. Juan and the others guys will make sure you have a nice stay!

Room Tip: Choose above 5th floor.
