“Great place---we would go back.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2010

Great location, nice and clean and in a safe area. The breakfast in the morning was more then what most hotels offer for free (eggs, meat, fruit salad etc).
My only complaint was we checked in at 3 PM and the room was not ready. We left and came back about an hour later and it was still not ready. We did not get the room till 5 PM...that was the only disappointment here.

We stayed here for five nights. The shuttle from/to the airport is convenient and flexible. Yes, it is an airport hotel and you need a car but it takes you 10 minutes to Downtown or Coral Gables, 20 minutes to South Beach at most. It is worth mentioning that parking is free, a rarity in Miami.

For the two of us we ended in a suite with two independent bedrooms, two bathrooms, a lounge, a fully equipped kitchen, 3 flat screen TVs, a DVD player. Not only it was big for two, but it was very clean and comfortable. Overall, the hotel itself is in good condition. On the third day we had to call maintenance to replace burnt bulbs and this was done in the instant.

The included buffet breakfast is better than in many places with juices, good coffee, tea, breads, pastries and a choice of hot items such as eggs, sausages, bacon. Service is attentive. Replenishment of the buffet is done properly so that all choices of the day are always available.

When you are at the hotel between 5 and 7 p.m.you are welcome to enjoy what they call the complimentary Evening Social with drinks (beer, wine, sodas) and appetizers, a good way to slacken and to prepare for the evening.

Unlike most airport hotels where you end in the middle of nowhere, here you are at a 5-minute walk of a small shopping center including Publix supermarket, CVS pharmacy, Starbucks, Subway, BurgerKing and 2 minute more to Wendy's and Mc Donald's.

It was our first experience with the Hyatt Summerfield Suites and it was highly conclusive. A lot of space, a friendly staff, an excellent value : it is a choice that we will always consider for our next trips.

stayed one night before a cruise. Reception staff very friendly and helpful and we were upgraded ( didn't ask!) and had a lovely 2 bed, 2 bath room with lounge and kitchen!!! Flat screen tvs x3 so no arguments about who's watching what... nice change...it was huge and very clean... almost as big as the downstairs of my home ;-) and made the cabin on the cruise ship seem even smaller than it was....beds very comfy. Was some aircraft noise but not so bad.
Sadly it was too cold to use the pool, but it had just been cleaned and the hot tub was popular. Short walk to a few shops/restaurants which was nice even though you get some funny looks for walking in America!!!!
Breakfast a pleasant inclusion in the price; not flash but better than average.
Hotel arranged transport to port, but check price if more than 2 adults ($12 each) as may be cheaper to get taxi.
We were quite sad to leave.

I stayed here twice in the space of a week, both very short stays. The hotel is in good condition and within easy striking distance of the airport. The shuttle runs about once an hour but not on demand, so if you want to get there faster, a taxi is about 20 dollars with tip.

Breakfast is decent, with good coffee, juices, cereals, breads-muffins-pastries and also a selection of hot food like eggs, bacon and so on. It is not gourmet but it is better than I've experienced at the Holiday Inn Express chain. If you eat for fuel in the mornings rather than because you love breakfasts, it will be a nice surprise.

The rooms are generously sized and are well appointed, with a kitchenette, lcd tvs, ironing board and living area. The tv channels seemed a bit hit and miss - half the channels were not available for some reason and that could have been annoying on a longer stay.

If you feel like stretching your legs, it is a short walk to a good array of shops. There is a shopping area across the canal which has a large supermarket, starbucks, laundrette, italian restaurant and many other stores. This would be very handy if you wanted to use the kitchenette. There are also pharmacies (2) and fast food places next to the shopping complex.

All in all, I liked it. The folk at the front desk were helpful, holding a jacket for me while I was away for a few days and the whole thing was basically hassle free. Obviously, this wouldn't be a prime location if you want to be on the beach - it is an airport hotel. But, unlike many others, you are not 'trapped' there without civilization nearby. Just being able to walk to a Walgreens or Starbucks made a nice change from the normal airport hotel experience.

Read the reviews for this hotel going back 4-5 years. They're all generally very good. The few complaints are minor and are the easily resolved kind. This is a rare thing in the hotel business, especially in Miami, home to many a crappy hotel. We've stayed here for a week every year for the last 5 years. We could pay 2x the price, but who needs that? Attractive property, beautifully maintained, an oasis, really. Not a resort but the pool is heated and the deck is tranquil. You DO need a car. 15 mins to Miami Beach, 20 mins to Key Biscayne,5 mins to downtown Miami, 10 mins to the best Cuban restaurants outside Havana. Free breakfast (plenty of hot items served buffet style), free parking (practically unheard of in Miami). Secure, gated property. Friendly, effecient staff (likewise rare in Miami). Everything ship-shape. Manager Sandra seems to work 12 hour days, and it shows.

We stayed here one night before a cruise, and every time we take a cruise out of Miami we will be staying at this Hotel. When we got to the airport at baggage claim, we grabbed the bags and went up one floor (that's where the hotel shuttles are). I called the hotel, someone speaking English that you could understand said a shuttle would be there in 10 minutes and it was. The hotel is nice and clean, there is a lot of walking the hotel is spread out and only 3 floors , the hall way had a funny smell but the rooms were fine. Only a little airplane noise, there is a Publix grocery store just behind the hotel, short 5 minute walk. There is also a subway and bugerKing and Pizza delivery. The morning breakfast was great --cereals, yoguart, breads, eggs, frenchtoast, sausage, eggs, potatoes. Our room was a one bedroom suite, we had 5 people and everyone was comfortable. We asked the front desk to call a minivan cab and 3 minutes later we were loading up for the Port. I spent alot of time looking for a safe, nice , one night stay hotel before our cruise and I found a great one with this one.

This is a really convienent hotel for the airport. The shuttle service to and from the airport is excellent and flexible, they will take you to the car hire locations rather than the airport if requested. The room we had was large and clean and the bed was comfortable. There was a kitchen which was reasonably well equipped - but no kettle.
The included breakfast was extremely good having a wide choice of well prepared food and drinks.
We will certainly stay here again and much preferred it to the similarly priced Hampton Inn which is close by.
