“Fantastic Stay - But Be Carefull with Shuttle !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2009

We needed a Hotel in the area for 1 night.

The room was like a "mini-condo" . Very Clean and Nice.
They have a small kitchen and seperate bedrooms.
(Internet was slow)

The Concierge was Very Very Helpfull.
Good Complimentary Breakfast.

*One word of Warning - be carefull not to get on the wrong Hyatt Shuttle -
Miami Airport is always a Cluster-Fudge, and to compound the confusion, there is more than one Hyatt in the Area.
- When you have your luggage, Call the Hyatt "Summerfield" and coodinate a pick-up point.

I stayed here as per recommendations from this site and it exceeded and met all expectations. The staff was helpful and the room was nice and clean. The shuttle picked me up at the airport late in the evening/night with out a problem and I was able to easily catch a shuttle in the morning to get me to the port for the cruise. The breakfast was awesome and so was the coffee. Without a doubt I would stay here again. Loved this place!

Entrance wasn't on the main road, and the gps seemed a little confused (or maybe it was just me), but we got there eventually.
Free outdoor parking and the entire area is surrounded by a wrought iron fence, so I felt somewhat secure.
As for the room, this place was well worth the price. A 2-room suite was <$20 more than the single so I went for it. Good move. The rooms are large and separated by the living area, have king beds, individual bathrooms, and large screen dtv's. The central area also has a large screen tv and a comfortable couch type thing that looks comfortable as another bed. There's a full size fridge in the kitchen.
Breakfast was a madhouse with kids, so I grabbed what I could. Starbucks coffee is offered, if you're into that. Food was okay.
I will make it a point to stay here again.

We stayed here for one night as a stop off in Miami.

Hotel room is excellent. We had a 2 bedroom suite which had a lare double bed in each room and a bed settee in the lounge for which we paid $135. Room was ideal.

Breakfast had a good choice (at 8:30) and had plenty of healthy options and Starbucks coffee.

Hotel was easy to find and easy to travel into Miami and then upwards to Fort Lauderdale.

Air conditioning was quiet in the bedrooms, the lounge area was a little noisy but we sorted that by setting the temperature to a setting it was rarely needed.

Certainly the best hotel we stayed at on our trip round Florida.

This is a very nice hotel for the price. The rooms are spacious and clean. They transport you there from the airport. There is a grocery store right around the corner - so you can use the kitchen in your room (well equipped). My only complaint would be that there was no food left at breakfast. We got down there more than 30 minutes before it ended, but there was only coffee, even though the room was packed full of people (room not big enough). That was not a big deal for us since we were boarding a cruise ship that morning.

Waited outside Miami airport for the advertised shuttle in hot, muggy conditions. After 55 minutes, and seeing the shuttles from several other hotels pass by more than once, I approached taxi rank. They were not surprised that it was Hyatt that had failed to shoew up. Taxi charged me $14 to go to the hotel. When i arrived and explained the situation to the agent at the front desk, not a shimmer of remorse! Firstly, she told me that the shuttles only came when called but did not know how I would have got hold of the number. The website only has the central 800 number and makes no mention of needing to call. Nor is the hotel listed on the board at ther airport. she then said that the service stopped at 11:30pm. I had been waiting from 11pm so that explains only the second half hour. however, the website lists the hours of service as 5am to midnight.
Then i wanted to leave at 5:20am but was told the service would only leave every 30 minutes so i had to choose 5am or 5:30, even though no-one else was expected to use the service. The room was pretty good but frankly by that point all i wanted to do was sleep. In the morning, I wanted a coffee but guess what - no coffee service until 6am and no coffee had been left in my room to make my own. In short, stay away - you can do better for your money.

Our family stayed here one night before and after our trip to Barbardos. Once we retrieved our luggage, we called the hotel and they told us to proceed to the Departure Area (baggage retrieval was on the 1st floor, Departures are on the 2nd Floor) and wait for the Shuttle. It arrived about 25 minutes later. We had requested a Trio Suite (2 bedrooms, 3 beds) and were given a double. (If you make your reservations on-line, make sure you call the hotel and ask them to guarantee the rooms you chose.) We asked the front desk to change us, but unfortunately they were all occupied. So, they added a One Bedroom Suite for my husband and I at no charge! Our daughter (18) and son (21) had the Two Bedroom Suite, 2 King-Sized Beds, all to theirselves. Both rooms were on the 2nd floor, not far from each other. Now, that's what I call Customer Service! We checked in around 2:30 p.m., put our luggage in our rooms, freshened up, and asked about the cuban restaurant in the plaza behind the hotel (about a 10-15 minute walk). As we proceeded out of the property for our walk, one of the Shuttle drivers saw us, stopped, and took us to the restaurant. It was a hot and humid day so we were very thankful he saw us. We gave him a tip and went inside the restaurant. It was very clean and nicely decorated. We were the only one's there for the first hour and had fantastic service. The food was incredible as was the cuban beer they offered. We left the restaurant at about 5:30 p.m. (what can I say, we ate and ate and relaxed....we were on vacation!) and walked around the shopping complex on our way back to the hotel. My daughter and I found a shoe store with very inexpensive prices on sandals (buy one, next one 50% off) so she bought 2 pairs. We all then went into their Supermarket (Publix, I think) and bought some bottled water together with some munchies for later, although the kids bought ice cream from the hotel store around 7:30. The other food places we saw in the plaza was a nice looking Italian Restaurant and a Starbucks (there may be more but these were what we saw on the way back to the hotel). We took a leisurely walk back to the hotel (around 6:30 p.m.) as it was much cooler out. We all turned in pretty early because our morning started out around 4:00 a.m. The next morning, we went down and had breakfast which had a pretty good assortment (bagels, toast, danish, eggs, bacon, yogurt, cereals, milk, coffee, tea, juices, etc. Our flight to Barbados was 9:55 a.m., so we checked out and caught the 7:30 a.m. Shuttle.

Upon our return, we were given the Trio Suite (3rd Floor). All suites were wonderful (both coming and going), extraordinarily clean, extremely quiet, and comfortable. The kitchen cabinets were stocked with all the conveniences of home for cooking and eating. We checked in at 7:30 p.m., after the last Shopping Mall shuttle picked up from the hotel, so we dropped our luggage into the room and asked the front desk to call us a taxi. It arrived about 10 minutes later and was around $23 to the Mall. I can't remember the name of it but it is huge. We ate delicious food at the Kobe Steakhouse and had a fun time. We caught a waiting taxi found easily outside the eating establishments. The next morning, we ate breakfast again and since our flight back to Vegas was not until 4:00 p.m., we asked for a late check-out (1:00 p.m.) and washed our clothes from the last 2 weeks in the Guest Laundry. You can purchase detergent and softener in the hotel store. We ordered pizza for lunch (from menus slipped under the hotel doors) at 11:30 which was suppose to be delivered at 12:00. Unfortunately, it was delivered at 12:55 and was cold, but the Front Desk was very kind and told us we could stay in our room to eat it. We warmed up the pizza, ate, ran the dishwasher, and checked out around 1:35. Oneof the Shuttle Driver's saw us coming off the elevator and took us directly to the airport instead of making us wait until 2:00.

Our experience with this hotel could not have been better. If we ever come back to Miami as a stopover to someplace else, we will definitely stay here.
