“Ample rooms, but common areas could improve”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

We stayed at this hotel for 5 days in the beginning of the second fortnight of December 2012. We were not sure of where to stay in Miami (because we had things to do in different parts of town) so in the end we settled for the airport area, which is quite central. The location is alright, unless you're looking for a beach location, in which case you should stay downtown or in Miami Beach. The rooms are very spacious, with a fully equipped kitchen and living room. This, coupled with the existence of a Publix (supermarket) and Starbucks right around the corner made it very easy for us to self-cater. The hotel has a good gym (and the avenues around it, by Blue Lagoon, make a nice scenery for a morning jog), but the other common areas badly need renovation. The chairs in the breakfast room are all stained, and breakfast itself was only good if you got there before 8am. In one of the days we got up late and by the time we got there - about 9:15 - there was nothing left. I'm not sure I'd stay there again for such a long period, but for a night before catching an early plane it is definitely a good choice.

Room Tip: Room 338 is haunted - there is a lady ghost living there.

Our family -7 adults and 1 child - needed a hotel to stay in before our cruise. This place fit our needs. Shuttle from airport and to pier was timely and driver(s) were friendly The front desk was busy with departing guest but our checkin went smoothly and quickly. We were early at the hotel but it was great that our rooms were ready, clean and close to each other. We had two rooms-each was a two bedroom suite with a living space that had a pull out sofa-so this room could easily sleep 6. Beds were comfy. There was a kitchen that had all the fixins(pot, pans, dishes etc). The staff was very firendly. This hotel does not have full resturant but the staff had great suggestions for places to eat or delivery services..if we cruise out of Miami again we will stay here. Rates were good. Make sure you eat early for breakfast-this seating is small and fills up quickly. Good selection for a quick breakfast

Convenient, close to airport, and helpful staff but all that didn't make up for a dirty, dated interior in desperate need of a renovation. All carpets looked dirty and were stained, halls seemed dark and sofa in 2 bedroom suite also looked so bad we didn't feel comfortable even sitting on them. Overall, for a Hyatt and what we expect with them, was an average to poor hotel.

We booked a two bedroom suite and arrived in the late afternoon, check-in was quick and friendly. I was told we were given a room upgrade, but when we arrived at the room, this wasn't the case and we had the two bedroomed suite as expected. The suite was a bit run down, the fridge had been bashed, a little worn around the edges, but otherwise clean and manageable for one night.

One nice thing about the hotel is that we were invited to the evening social where they served soup, nachos, lovely cookies, pizza and raw vegetables! There was also free soda, hot drinks, beer and wine - it was enough for a small dinner at no cost! Breakfast was also included the next morning, but was very chaotic - although very tasty and a nice selection there was not enough seats to fit everyone!

We stayed at this hotel coming back from Roatan, Honduras. They have a FREE shuttle to the hotel....here is the key: go to the 2nd floor of the Miami Airport, then call the hotel, and let them know what area on the SECOND FLOOR your at, and the shuttle will meet you promptly. Upon arrival at the hotel, the front reception was professional, clean cut and very helpful with dinner choices. The room was spacious, had a well stocked kitchen, full size fridge & stove. The master king bed was WAY comfortable, and the pull out bed on the L-shaped couch provided more than ample room for my 2children! Nice size flat screen TV's in both rooms! No room service, but plenty of eateries within walking distance, but we had delivery directly to our room...fast too!

Room Tip: All rooms are non smoking...you can't go wrong.

We spent seven nights in this Hotel. The Location is good because it's very close to the Miami Airport. You definitely need to have a car if you want to visit Miami and Miami beach. It takes about 15 minutes to go to Ocean Drive in South Beach, 10 minutes to Coral Gables, 20 minutes to the Down town.Parking, shuttle to the Airport and internet are complementary. The staff was very polite and friendly, always at our disposal for any question. They gave us a very big suite with bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom. Everything was very comfortable, the bed was a king size bed also very comfortable. The Hotel has an out door pool with jacuzzi.
What we liked most of this hotel was the breakfast: a very rich breakfast with everything you can imagine. it's really a nice breakfast.
The only thing we have to complain with is that the bathroom could have been cleaned better, other things were all fine.
We definitely recommend this hotel for your trip to Miami.

Situated in a quiet area, within walking distance of a Walgreens, CVS, Publix etc, this is an excellent choice whether you are here for Business or Pleasure. The HYATT house Miami Airport is minutes away from Miami airport, with a convenient shuttle pickup (the driver drove like he was a Mario Andretti knock-off) that gets you to the hotel. The front-desk staff were knowledgeable and courteous. The hotel rooms are well furnished with flat-screen TV's, a kitchen with range, microwave, dishwasher, and a full-size refrigerator. If you plan to stay there on an extended basis you can even get your groceries done through the front desk. Breakfast was served, and was quite okay. Overall the family and I were very satisfied with the service and the amenities.
