“Good Stay nearby to MIA”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

Large rooms - a little tired though, OK breakfast and dinner (mon-thurs). Nice desk staff. Shuttle every half-hour to MIA. Pond behind the hotel has massive fish! Be sure to toss them a bagel or two ;)

Room Tip: Rooms on south side face lake. I imaging the north facing rooms on the upper floors would have airpo...

Stayed here on Dec. 21,2013. Very pleased with checkin, size and cleanliness of suite, no issues whatsoever. Had a small business centre where we printed off our boarding passes. Breakfast buffet was very adequate for complimentary buffet meal. Complimentary shuttle was late by half hour, so if you have not left adequate time for checkin and are running late, less stress to take a quick cab ride over to MIA. This hotel is so close to airport it is not necessary to travel on expressway! Big bonus during peak travel periods. We left our car Free parking for 10 days. Very appreciative perk----certainly made up for the return cab fare from airport. Didn't want to wait any longer than 15 min as had long drive back over to Bonita. Would highly recommend this hotel for ease on/off expressway, close to airport, cleanliness of room, and friendliness of staff. Only giving a 4/5 rating due to late shuttle. They run every half hour. No issues with free wi-if.

It was a great place to spend the night as we went to the Orange Bowl. Close to the airport and rooms are very spacious. Only disadvantage is that there is no Wi-Fi available. Rooms are comfortable and large and some with good views of the lagoon that the hotel is located on.

We stayed here the night before our cruise. The shuttle came to pick us up at the airport and they arranged a shuttle for the trip to the port, at noon the next day. We ate their complimentary dinner and breakfast. We were upgraded to a two bedroom suite...very spacious. The front desk was pleasant and efficient. The rooms were comfortable and clean. We did hear a few airplanes but it was not unbearable. Food was fine. What more could you ask for? We would stay here again!

The hotel is bland but not horrible. It is nothing one would expect for $250 per night though. VERY large rooms, but one half of the suite has a really bad ant infestation. Perhaps if you stayed in your room and didn't venture into any other portions of the hotel you might have an adequate stay, but that really isn't possible. The comp dinner & breakfast were a surprise, but then again so was the horrid scene that plays out in the dining room. No less than 20 kids all running around the place, jumping off of chairs, yelling all the way across the dining room, wrestling each other to the floor. The dining room looked like a summer camp for kids with no parents! All the while, the dining room supervisor just looks on at the mayhem but the plates never get empty in the plate dispenser. Even the grand piano in the lobby has suffered from this as half of the keys don't even work. I spoke with the woman at the front desk, whom I can't begin to imagine could hear the words that I was speaking but couldn't hear the clash of pre-adolescent monsters crashing into each other just 60 feet from her. She said that she'd talk to the manager, who did finally come out about 10 minutes later and did speak with the worst of the really bad parents. 3 monsters down and only 17 to go. My 21 year old daughter just starred in disbelief at the behavior. I will not be having breakfast here and I wouldn't dream of staying here again! I can only imagine the lack of management in this hotel who would sacrifice the marginal reputation they already have by not "managing" the dining room and foyer area of the hotel. There is an old fishing proverb that says "a fish rots from the head". I can only imagine that this is also true of hotels. The managements inability to recognize civilized behavior and to insist on this in a hotel that prices itself in this price range and offers hi-speed WIFI and bills itself as a suite hotel is dumbfounding to say the least. If I were the corporate manager and saw this kind on shananagans in one of my hotels, I wouldn't hesitate to fire this manager on the spot! They are absolutely wasting their money marketing this hotel to vacationers who are looking for a little peace & quiet or business people who actually want to accomplish something in the common areas of the hotel without suffering a big glob of jelly thrown onto their laptop in the middle of a project by an out-of-control parentless child. Never again! NOT for grown ups. NOT for people raised indoors. NOT for romantic weekends. NOT for honeymooners.

Room Tip: Choose a room far, far, far away from the hotel entrance, away from the front desk and far, far, far...

Great hotel suite - full kitchen with nice living room and bedroom. Layout is great. Kitchen and living room with washroom in between bedroom and living room. Separate sink from shower and toilet. Stayed before cruise. Free airport shuttle, good breakfast (lots of variety - hot and cold), pool was fine. Location is very close to MIA. Took a cab to the port - $28. I heard shuttle is per person so if you have a large group, it is cheaper to cab it.

The good: Pretty clean and convenient location. The 2 br suite has a lot of space for our need. Bedrooms are separated by the living room. Our rooms are facing south, so it is quiet, though you would still hear noises from airplanes taking off. We got a pretty good price from hotels.com - almost like a pricing error. 5 min walk to publix and an alcohol store.
The not-so-good: although we did not mind, other guests might have expected smiles or hellos from the staff. Refrigerator and AC had some strange noises.
