Loved the room I had for a one night stay at the Mayfair..... would have enjoyed a longer visit. The room was a very good size, and to my surprise, there was a piano against one wall. That's a first! It also included a nice sized sitting area, a beautiful, clean bathroom, comfortable beds....I could go on and on. Excellent staff. Only had breakfast, but the restaurant overlooked a beautiful atrium with fountains. Great location in Coconut Grove, which is a fun place to visit. Would highly recommend.

Nothing was too much for staff, especially a lovely young man called Raul. He assisted in pointing out spots and travel arrangements.

Recently stayed in the Mayfair - and first thing that strikes you is its unique architecture and appearance. The tile work and fountains are beautiful. Great location for a wedding as one party was just leaving afterwards. The rooms are large and comfortable, but a little on the dark side during the day as many are blocked by other buildings walls or screens of tall plants. Service was good and attentive - although some of the staff seem to speak very little english. The location is also great and in walking distance to shopping and good restuarants. The view from the roof was wonderful and the water in the swimming pool's temperature was perfect for a dip. Add the bar and that "Miami sound" music and it was a +.

I "pricelined" this hotel, the first time I had done that in a long while. I failed to remember that if you priceline and get a good deal, you often times get a room that is less than ideal which was the case here. My room was directly across from the elevator - 3rd floor. Regardless of how you book this hotel, ask to stay far away from the elevator b/c it is very audible.
My room was pretty decent - clean and nice-sized. This is a good hotel for the cost-conscious. The location in Cocunut Grove is quite good, but the hotel is in need of a re-do. The rooms and decor is vintage 1995'ish.
I did eat breakfast there the morning I checked out and it was very good.
I might stay there again if I was flipping the bill. With work paying for it, no....I'd spend another $50 or so and stay somewhere nicer.
