There is nothing out of the ordinary about this property. Hotel rooms reed renovation. Lobby is gorgeous. Staff is spotty - when we checked in at almost 2 AM after delayed flight and terrible trip, they made us wait at the front desk even when we called ahead for 20 minutes until they found a room. Alternatively the next morning the front desk staff was great and very helpful! The staff at the pool was horrible. I sat out there for 2 hours and no one came to me to ask if I needed anything. I actually flagged one down and asked for a menu and he never came back. I had to go to the bar for a drink and waited an additional 15 minutes there. The next day was no better. The pool has no security - there is a gate in the back that anyone from the street can access.

Brunch was amazing with bottomless mimosas! The food at the hotel restaurant inside was also great for lunch. Pricey, but expected for the Ritz. All in all if I had the chance to go to Miami again, I would go to Key Biscayne and not here. It's not worth the money!

The service , the food , the spa , top Notch! Sitting by the pool , they constantly serve free drinks and snacks.....the staff is amazing ! Even though it was a bit expensive , it was totally worth it!

Room Tip: I would definitely get a balcony on the ocean , it was simply lovely .

Green Features: perfect ...they are on the ball and save water. The sheets are so soft and silky , and so pristine , you do not need to change your sheets every day .

my company uses this hotel for a conference every year. we have tried a few hotels in Miami but this hotel stands head and shoulders above the rest, not just for the hotel itself but the friendliness and professionalism of the staff.

i am looking forward to seeing everyone again soon!

To whom it may concern

I have traveled the globe from Asia to the Middle East from Europe to Russian Canada and South America

Overall this was a short 3 day stay here the location is far from the best but not terrible the hotel is a little dated at this point but the rooms are clean and the lobby is nice

The price I got on the room was more then fair if for the service alone

I would go back if I needed a place to stay in Miami

Food by the pool is a bit pricey

Only stayed 1 night on our way to Antigua and this was our first time at the Coconut Grove location. We are RC Rewards members, but we were not expecting any special consideration since we were there for <24 hours. As it turns out, were upgraded to a corner suite with a dining room, extra half bath, two balconies, and a separate KS bedroom. The fold-out sofa in the parlor was made into another bed by housekeeping. The property is quite pleasant and the views from the room were wonderful water vistas. We didn't eat there (see the review for Jaguar), but had drinks in the lobby bar and really enjoyed the setting. As is always the case with The RC, excellence is their style. From bellhops to front desk to housekeeping, everyone is pleasant, smiling, and genuinely interested in making the guests' stay a memorable one. Great job!

Attended a conference over the past few days. And all the staff deserve a medal. Top notch service. But some pretty basic issues when paying top $ . The upgrade to a water view room was not an upgrade at all - as the building site outside the front starts work at 6am...no sleep in. And there are clearly gremlins in the hot water system... A minimum of 5 mins prior to wanting hot water you need to turn on the taps....

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room without a view whilst the construction is happening

First, let me say, we have stayed at a number of Ritz Carlton properties and this one does not hold up to the star quality of the others. We booked our deluxe two queen room a month before, only to find a few days before our arrival that the reservation said "King" not two Queens. We called the property directly and were told they would make sure we had two queen beds. On our arrival, the front desk said our reservation was for a "King" and they had no queens available. We were given a rollaway, which for a tall teenager, was very uncomfortable! We were not told at any time in this process that the "ocean view" rooms faced a very LARGE CONSTRUCTION SITE with tall cranes LOUDLY banging all day and all night!
The one huge saving grace (added a star) was a Ms. Elizabeth Morison, at the front desk, who was gracious, informative……and upgraded our room to the Presidential Suite, the next evening!!
This, of course, erased all the previous misfortune…..except for the loud banging all night….but it made it easier to take :)
