Description: Rare Steakhouse is a unique space that fuses contemporary dining in a non-traditional kosher restaurant setting. It crosses the lines to create a singular synergy, bringing kosher fine dining to a new level. From interiors to cuisine, Rare Steakhouse permeates trend. "In a city littered with "classic American steakhouses,' you have to cook and present yourself with a little chutzpah to stand out," says owner Baruch Sandhaus. The goal, to redefine the cookie-cutter approach to fine dining for its respective clientele; while introducing a new way of dining for Floridians and travelers alike – removing the association that kosher cuisine is exclusively about religion. At Rare Steakhouse you can find some of the most prestigious cuts of meats available on the market. Rare Steakhouse is the one of the newest and coolest restaurant in town. It is a RARE find in a HOT location, but well done on prices and food.

“Food OK very expensive”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

As we arrived an elderly lady was leaving and said; "we have eaten all the food...OK may be there is little left for you" which set the scene for our meal which was a mixture of reasonble food and at times comical service. The room resembles a hall in a hotel and is devoid of any atmosphere. The food when which took a long time to come was well cooked and the portions were large as one would expect. The cost was certainly more than the food, service and ambience.

“Good food, very expensive”

Probably best kosher restaurant in Miami area, and had a wonderful meal here. Quite pricey and service was ok. Liked the quiet decor ....

“passable quality, unacceptable service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

We went on 1/2, party of 8, including 3 children under the age of 11. it took quite a while to have the server come to us and ask about our order, it took approximatly 30' minutes for the appetizers to arrive (popcorn chicken and a wedge salad), we had to remind them about the wine and beer twice prior to it being brought to the table. The waiter kept on pushing for us to oder the priciest steak - at $56/piece, we did not order that one. We place the order for our entrees - 4 steaks, one sea bass, one burger and 2 kids' meals - hot dog and fries. It took over an hour for this food to be served, we asked 3 times to bring the kid's meals out ahead of time (kept on forgetting). Water was not being refilled. Poor, cold service. Food was ok, but not worth the price. Would never go back or recommend to others.

“Far less than average - NOT recommended”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

We ordered two fillet steak cuts well-done, a salad without fish, french fries and regular orange juice. The waiter also asked if we would like some water and my wife went for it.

The two cuts were far from well-done (rather bad-done), they were both dark red inside. Unfortunately, only my wife sent it back to have it put back on the grill. I was starving so went ahead and ate it (and later threw up). I have eaten at many high-class restaurants. Rare Steakhouse rather tries to be high-end but is far less than average. Nowhere have I been warned on the menu card that the restaurant doesn't take any responsibility for its meat and how they prepare it.

The ordered salad without fish came with fish and had to be sent back. They simply took the fish pieces out (we could still smell the fish taste). Disgusting.

They forgot the French Fries - or as they call it: Steak Fries. So we had to ask for it after we already finished eating the meat (the waiter didn't show up before we finished the tiny portion, so we could only inform him that we would still like to have the ordered fries once we finished with the meat). Definitely not a high level of service/restaurant.

And the regular (!) orange juice came with alcohol and was sent back too. Instead, I went for another drink. Good they didn't charge for this. For the two water bottles (even the bottle with tap water which I didn't touch and also didn't order because I ordered the orange juice instead), they charged USD 4 each.

What they also charged for - and what we definitely would not have given after all these circumstances - is 18% gratuity "for your convenience". Pardon me? A gratification after all these incidents? You got to be kidding. I have never been at such an unprofessional restaurant in my life. Sorry. The only rare thing about Rare Steakhouse is the fact that you rarely find these types of low-class (or rather wanna-be-high-class) restaurants. And these experiences cost us USD 200 (Yes, for a party of two)!
