The de la Cruz Collection is one of the best private "museums" in the country showing international contemporary art in a brand new building. The work was, when we were there, mostly of established artists although there's a strong local link. We were not familiar with most of the work so the written handouts on each of the 3 floors were extremely helpful. Also, a staff member made herself available to escort us and talk about the artists and their work and how they related each to the other. There wasn't a weak piece in the bunch. I'd say the museum is doable in about 2 hours if your stroll, think and talk about the work. Much less time for a run through. Located in the Miami Art District, it's easy to get to. On-street parking is not a problem. Also of note, the de la Cruz home is open to the public by resrvation; we plan on doing this next time.
