This is our third year staying at this location during NASCAR race weekend. Thursday nite through Sunday nite. Though we do miss the fish tank, there is much more usable space for breakfast when the hotel is crowded.

An earlier reviewer noted the fliers under the door. This distresses me that, nearly 4 months later people, who are not guests, are STILL wandering the halls. Over 4 nite we had three fliers.

Our room, a king, was spotless, with an LG flat screen, good lighting and sufficient desk space. The bedding had a freshly cleaned duet & sheet, which are being cleaned for each new guest. BRAVO!

Breakfast offered a really nice variety of dry cereal, bread, make your own waffle, and hard boiled eggs. The itty bitty creamers are annoying for someone who wants light coffee, but not tragic. Do wish there were bananas for cereal.

The desk staff are responsive. When the safe did not work in our room that same day it was entirely replaced and the desk cheerfully re-keyed our room cards ... We were never made to feel we were an inconvenience ... Even when the phones seemed busy and the lobby bustled.

The hotel has a shuttle to and from the airport, which is a plus because driving in Miami can be a death trap. The hotel is near couple big malls, as well as centralized from the beach and other attractions. There are plenty of restaurants around and within walking distance

Room Tip: Upgrade to a suite. It's worth it. Plus you get a mini kitchen for the extended stay

We stayed here last year, liked the hotel and decided to book again.
This trip we actually stayed twice, once as a stopover between flights, then again for our shopping trip to Miami,
One night stopover was easy, arrive at airport, ring the hotel and they send a shuttle bus for you which arrives in about 20 minutes. Book the shuttle for the return journey next morning.
On our return to Miami we stayed while we shopped the malls and all the other places we like to go.
The staff do very well here, everybody speaks, makes eye contact and wants to help, that does make a difference to us.
Housekeeping was excellent.
Front desk found us an umbrella when we wanted to walk out in the serious rain.
The breakfast, included in our room stay was good. Choice of cereals, fresh fruit, yogurts, pastries, waffles, toast, boiled eggs plus a couple of different hot choices each day such as bacon or sausage with eggs. OK, not 5 star, but freshly prepared and ample choice.
There is hot coffee available in the lobby 24 hours (We never actually used our room coffee maker).
They have a bar that opens in the evenings, $5 for a draft beer and a good choice of spirits. Also no objection if you take your own supper to eat with your beer.
There is a small pool area with plenty of tables and chairs if you want to take your breakfast outside and a small shop for essentials and snacks.
The hotel is next to the turnpike,(ideal location for us) so you can hear the traffic noise in the pool area, though not in our room.
We think the location is great, There is a strip mall at the side of the hotel, a great Cuban restaurant, a fantastic Italian restaurant, plus 3 other, non chain, non franchise REAL places to eat! There is also a McD, a BK and a Dunkin D's here, also a drug store.
We had a rental car (parking is free and lots of it) but it is good to go out to eat without needing to drive.
Our room ( a "basic room") had 2 queen beds, lots of space, small bathroom, large TV and free internet access that worked all the time.
We did use the business center (2 computers, scanner, printer) which was also free.
The guests we met seemed to be a mix of shoppers on vacation and business types.
To sum up:
We will be stay here again on our next Miami trip

My husband and I stayed for One night layover to do some shopping as our flight wasn't until 4:30 pm the next day. We found that waiting around for the shuttle waisted so much of our time.

We tried to get the shuttle to the mall from the Hotel and had to wait 40 minutes before the shuttle arrived from the airport as it was rush hour traffic the day we arrived.......The front desk called a taxi for us but it never came....The next day the same thing happened....The driver took someone to the airport and when we asked to be dropped off at the Dolphin Mall first he said we would have to wait until he came back from the airport as he couldn't drop us off because he wasn't going that way....Again, I had the front desk call a taxi but it never came....we had to wait 40 min..before the shuttle came back from the Airport....Very annoying when you don't have much time to waist....The Taxi cabs must not want to come to this Hotel as they know there is a shuttle service.....so we were left standed for so long.....:(( Management should definately consider having 2 shuttles at this Hotel......One for the Airport runs and one for the shopping runs....This way there won't be any dissapointed guests, as mostly everyone books this hotel because of the shuttle service to and from the Airport and shopping....I tried to book at Courtyard by Marriott right at Dolphin Mall....as I usually walk to the Mall....but they were fully booked so decided to try the Hampton Inn which advertised there transport by shuttle....If they consider getting another shuttle I will book with them again....if not I will definately stay at the Courtyard to maximise our shopping time....

We enjoyed everything else about this Hotel.....the breakfast, room and especially the Beds...:))
and my husband loved the Hot chocolate.....

Not a bad hotel but not the usual level that I expect from a Hampton Inn.
Free breakfast was just below what you expect. Still decent but less variety for warm selections.
Housekeeping was spotty. One day service came late in the afternoon. Often there was something missing or overlooked
Cockroach in the bathroom the final morning.
AC seemed to barely keep up until the final day when it looks like they replaced the unit.

I loved staying at this Hampton Inn. There is a much appreciated free shuttle to malls and airport. However, it is a bit of a wait and would suggest at least one more shuttle and include walmart. I stayed from Sep 6 - Sep 11 and enjoyed it very much. From the moment we arrived which was before check in and was able to get our room. The room (1 bedroom suite) was very comfortable, clean and spacious. I enjoyed the hot chocolate and tea that was available all day as well. Miguel was excellent and very helpful.
I think that when checking in the front desk should let the guests know that there is a plaza (Doral Shops) right next door where you can purchase cheaper and better tasting food than the flyers that are placed under the door. There is subway, burger king, mc donalds, denny's, mediterranean restaurant, peruvian restaurant, a cafe and lounge as well as a discount pharmacy all right next door!
Service at the Hampton was top notch and i recommend it as the perfect hotel to stay especially when your trip is primarily for shopping. Special mention to Marcela, Miguel & Rodney.

Will be back soon!

They do have EXCELLENT restaurants there and all of our guest should know. I greatly appreciate your recognition for myself, Marcela, and Miguel. As I tell every guest, it's comments like these that keep them going and keeps them happy to provide the level of service that we strive for. Our location is perfectly situated for those who love to shop for we are right off the turnpike and we can get to both Dolphin Mall and International Mall in a flash! Okay, so first time in Miami for my family and I, August 6 to 10th, 2012. This hotel made the experience very memorable and comfortable. Shazad at front desk was a gem, very helpful, courteous and knowledgable about getting around - he's a keeper!! OMG the beds were like clouds, what's the brand, I need to get one! This made a long day of shopping and tired feet worth coming back to. The room was clean and spacious, kudos to cleaning staff. The Ice machine on our floor was convenient too, but the vending machine needs to be fixed. The breakfast variety was good every day, my daughter loved the waffle maker. The bar area was very relaxing near the pool. There is a gym if needed, but my exercise went to shopping all day.

The free shuttle service to and from the airport and nearby Dolphin Mall and International Mall was VERY much appreciated, but there is a bit of a wait for pick up - people, please look out for the blue/green shuttle. I recommend more drivers and vans for this, and extending this service to WalMart and Target for serious shoppers, with a specified time for pickup - we end up there anyway!! This is a service that needs to stay, it was a decider for me choosing this hotel. Rodney, thanks for being so understanding- Rm 606 from Trinidad.

IMPORTANTE: Tourists, especially from the Caribbean, activate Roaming or purchase a cheap Phone to call for pick up at the airport and the malls. HINT! - You can call for pick up at the information desk in the mall if you don't have service or a phone, they are very willing.

Overall, Hampton/Doral made this an awesome experience, will definitely be back again, and I already recommended to some friends who will be booking soon!
