“Excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

Zuma is a great restaurant, no doubt about it! I can not think of one negative think to sat about this place. The location, the interior design, the ambience, the people working there, the people eating there; everything was just the way I like it. Even the price was not as high as one could expect. We paid about 185 USD for two glasses of wine, two starters and two main courses, pluss one extra round of fabulous futomaki to fill us up entirely. We did not leave hungry!

The place was packed when we were there, and the ambience was really top notch. Lots of well dressed and well behaving people. I can understand why this is considered one of the top restaurants to visit in Miami these days.

If you are a guest at the Epic hotel - as we were - do not dine at Area 31 instead of Zuma. Zuma is a far better restaurant, with food in an entirely different class than the food you will get at Area 31, and that at a lower price too!

“Zuma's Revenge”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013 via mobile

Zuma is simply not as good as the other high-end Asian options. Had a business lunch today with peeps who did not know each other well. Each ordered their own meal, which was obvious to the servers, but it was served randomly and family style. Much awkwardness ensued. The lower-rank workers were paralyzed. Well, more for me, but it was sad to see. And in the end, I was starving 2 hours later anyway.

Food not as good as Momofuku, not as beautiful as Hakkasan, not as smooth as Nobu, not as ethereal as Azul. And not enough vegetables. Kampai, Rex

“Tasting Menu”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

This is the 2nd time I have ate at Zuma and its been great each time. We ordered the signature tasting menu and it was mouth watering. Each plate you think 'it cant get better' then it does. Diane was our server, she was attentive, knowledgable, and patient with us.
Prior to our arrival, Racquel contacted me via email to help set up the reservation. Bravo to the great staff at Zuma from the front of the house to the back of the house making all the tasty food.

“Loud and Expensive”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

Difficult to get in and an advisory when the reservation was made that we had 2 hours to "dine" as the table was to be occupied after us.
Don't go here on a budget or to dine. The service is hastened and the bill is enormous.
We had a current vintage St Supery Sauvignon Blanc - $80.00 - wow!
The Prawn Gyoza - pot stickers were tastey but a bit mushy in the feel.
Black Cod was definitely the best tasting and worth the $35, but the mushroom hotpot was all rice, heavy and outrageously priced for the pot of rice with very few mushrooms - way too heavy and overpriced for $21.
Then all the bills have a minimum 18% added to the whole bill for service.
The good: Fast service, too fast, pretty place.
The bad: Noisy, hurried, very expensive.
I would not go bak.
