Came to Miami (former resident) on a business trip with my wife for a week. Searched for a few days for a quality hotel NOT on the beach. Being a former resident, I don't fall prey to the tourist traps. The hotel is not located anywhere near the beach (30-35 minutes away) or downtown (20-25 minutes away) or Coral Gables (10 minutes). But is central enough that you can get anywhere within a short period of time. It's not far from MIA (about 5 minutes away, down the street). It's actually located in a fairly safe area but there's really nothing to do around the area. But when you visit Miami, you basically know that you need a car to get around.
The hotel looks like a brand new build and the hotel itself looks like a few steps up from your standard Best Western property. It's on par with a Hyatt Place or Four Points property. The most surprising bit is that it has a restaurant and room service. I didnt get to try the food but my wife says that food was surprisingly good. The staff was friendly and helpful. We came during "Miami Cruise Week" so there was a lot of guests in the hotel. Parking was problematic in the evenings but not a big deal. There seemed to be a shuttle that took guests to the port in 30 intervals.
Definitely recommend it if you're looking for a quality hotel in a central part of Miami.
