“Great views and awesome pool”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

We stayed here for a night in April 2011 and wished we could have stayed longer. Clean hotel in an amazing city. We also did our first couples massage here, which was great! We loved Miami and this hotel! We would definitely return and would highly recommend!

Checked in during music fest, mistake.
Here with family, thought we would stay downtown for Miami heat game. Mistake 2. Front desk very pleasant but disinterested and unwilling to help find a solution when we requested two double beds and all that was available was one king bed room. Here with two kids. Did not realize that double beds were "not guaranteed" when making reservation, then no roll away beds. Marriott website should be more clear. How is it possible that this is considered a "marquis" hotel? How can you run out of roll away beds? Looking forward to next leg of trip at ritz south beach, hope they know what service means!

This hotel is downtown Miami, in the business area and it is a hotel geared towards high end business travelers. Our room was beautiful - amazing views of the city, modern, but warm with wood and brown décor, a huge television, espresso machine, big comfy bed, and very clean. The bathrooms are exquisite - marble everywhere, a soaking tub, tv in the mirror - my only complaint is they give you only two towels ! Seems a little stingy, especially if there are two people, showering at night and in the morning - there was plenty of storage room to leave an extra towel just in case.
The staff at the front door is super - always ready to help and they even recognized us the 2nd time in the door. Heard them helping many other guests also. The front door people are your first impression and they give a great impression.
The cocktails at the DB lounge are inventive and the ambience is nice, like a private club.

We travelled a few days early for a scheduled conference. This is a business travelers dream - great space, nicely appointed with desk and lamps, great storage and we had a lovely view of the bay. Bathroom is spacious - a strange location for shower towels, however. The housekeeping staff do an exemplary job. The Illy coffee machines make a great cup. The fitness center is outstanding - love the miami music and it playing in the center - a nice change from the same workout music on my iPod. Although Daniel restaurant there - we didn't eat there. Location of the hotel is great for downtown Miami. The only "negative" things about the hotel - room service menu and hotel bar menu are a bit fried and outdated and boring. I preferred the options at the hotel across the street. The other thing is the spa is a contracted spa, so you cannot make an immediate reservation, they have to call the contractors and see if they can come in --- so it lacks a bit of ambiance, even though it has a great space. The Hotel Staff are amazing! We would stay again.

Thanks to commendable customer service at booking.com, we were transferred to JW Marriot when a previous reservation in another location went wrong. More impressive than anything else at JW Marriot are the rooms. From a big-screen TV, to an espresso machine and a desktop computer in the room, to a small TV and an anti-fog mirror for shaving in your bathroom, the designers of the rooms have been generous with their design. Not so common for many luxury hotels, this hotel also offers free wi-fi. The lobby is not so impressive but the hotel also have a bowling room with semi-virtual lanes (25$ per hour), a big basketball court and needless to say a swimming pool and spa. We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant and ordered in-room dinner but the quality was not as great as one expect at a luxury hotel. Last not but least, you should note that this hotel only has valet parking and it takes about 20 minutes to get your car.

Stayed here recently and was pleasantly surprised with the hotel and staff. My room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. I did some sightseeing and the staff actually knew the area quite well and gave me some helpful advice. The breakfast buffet was good and the hotel bar ok, but expensive. It is easy to walk to nearby bars, cafes and restaurants as well as a few local shops. The airport is about 30 mins from the hotel by taxi. A good place in a good location for a few days in Miami.

Room Tip: The best views are the highest ones on the south side.

I love this hotel and its hip factor is very very high! It's my first choice in downtown Miami.

The rooms are a great modern design and very functional. The view of the water from our room was stunning.

But the real surprise is the golf school and the bowling alley! We bowled a few games just for a treat.

Restaurant downstairs is fabulous.
