“Good Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

We stay at this hotel very often. It has a good location. However, it is not close to the beach if that is what you are looking for. There are many restaurants and shopping near by. The only reason I do not rated "Excellent" is because the pool only gets sun from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The hotel across the street blocks it the rest of the time. The hotel staff is very cordial and are always trying to help. It is expensive to valet park your vehicle approx. $38.00 a day. I have valet parked a vehicle once there and will not do it again. It is not so much because of the cost but the poor attitude of some of their attendants. Note that these are the only staff members who we avoid at all cost. There is parking if you don't mind walking two blocks.

Room Tip: There is a beautiful view if you get a room facing the bay. You can see the sunset in the morning. T...

Great hotel, too far from shops and sights. The 4 elevators are not suitable for a large hotel and too much time was spent waiting to go up or down. The staff were really friendly and helpful, particularly the guys at the entrance. Not for tourists

If you are captive at a business meeting, seminar, etc. this hotel offers good service in an attractive setting. If you are on vacation it is a terrible location! You are surrounded by high rises in a rather rundown area with a few cafe-type restaurants and low end stores. It is not convenient to the area's beautiful beaches, famous South Beach, or high end shopping of Bal Harbour, etc. The pool (on the 19th floor) is in the shade of surrounding buildings most of the day and people crowd into the one small corner that does receive sun late in the afternoon. When in Miami for pleasure stay at one of the beautiful beach locations and enjoy what the area is all about!

I have stayed here before and always find this hotel property to be excellent. It has a very positive vibe and the staff are very attentive. The property itself seems well maintained and very clean. Rooms have terrific views of Miami and the bay. This hotel is close to local attractions and a wide variety of restaurants. This part of town has been under construction for a number of years so getting around by car is a challenge. Overall a very positive experience.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room.

Though in an odd location this is a nice hotel with large rooms, comfy beds and very helpful and friendly staff. My only real beef is with the elevators. While not a huge hotel you could find yourself waiting for 10-15 minutes to get an elevator, where only about 50% of the time your card worked to get you to your floor. Very frustrating, and annoying and difficult when you are trying to arrive at meetings on time. They need to fix this!!

Combining business and pleasure for a pre-cruise stay, we checked into this stunning property on a mid afternoon weekday after leaving freezing temperatures with sub zero windchill in the Northeast. We were pleasantly greeted at hotel checkin with a query on how our trip was from the airport to the hotel. It wasn't the best actually--due to some unpleasant news back home and the typical not very clean cab we were in, but how nice it was to be greeted with such hospitality! Our room was ready and we took an elevator up to the high rise part of the hotel to a spotless, quiet room furnished in the hotel's signature contemporary tradition. A huge flat screen television dominates the room, with a baby version encased in the mirror in the bathroom. Aromatherapy amenities are lightly scented and lend themselves to the relaxing atmosphere. An Illy espresso maker dispenses some excellent espresso--we were glad that we had some bottled water to use for it. Floor to ceiling windows overlook the city and parts of the Port of Miami. We could see some ships that were in port. Have not yet eaten here, but may try DB Bistro Moderne as we are fans of Daniel Boulud. Last night we walked to the Mary Brickell Marketplace and enjoyed Rosa Mexicano. This center is the more upscale of the two local shopping centers within walking distance. (Bayside, closer to the port is the other.) Every staff member greets us with a warm professional attitude. The gym is great! Many pieces of equipment, excellent views from the 20th floor. Would have liked access to the Yoga room to do quiet stretching and Pilates, but it was locked. Will ask tomorrow if usable. Starbucks around the corner and truly enjoyed Freshko gourmet for breakfast and delicious vegan salad and juices! There are two minor issues, but too minor to give this property anything less than a stellar review: the commode in the bathroom is not separate from the shower/tub/sink area, so two people may find it uncomfortable to use the bathroom at the same time. Also, our mattress had a large hump in the middle. As a new property it shouldn't be the mattress, perhaps its the feather bed? We will investigate this further this evening....Keep up the top notch service at this resort! It is a keeper.

2nd stay and equally impressed with the rooms, service and central location. It would be nice to have more of an outside area - like by pool, but I suppose this is a skyscraper! Bedrooms are enourmous and very clean, washrooms are luxurious

Room Tip: Make sure you get an outside room
