“Highly recommend for celebration!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2012

Attending a conference, we stayed two nights late May. Entering our room, we were floored. We had been upgraded by the conference organizers and the hotel to a VIP suite--room 3708 Don't know whether it was because it was my 55th birthday or that was giving a keynote speech but greatly appreciated the surprise.. We have traveled a fair bit internationally and domestically, but, this was definitely the nicest room we have ever stayed in. And, as I told my husband, the nicest place that we will ever stay again.

The VIP suite should definitely be on your list if you are planning a honeymoon or other special occasion. Guest bathroom, living room with a 54 inch TV, frig, coffee maker, desk, computer (yes, that is right--computer). The bedroom had king size bed, large closet, another 54 inch TV. The bathroom had separate compartments for toilet and shower. Tub with floor to ceiling windows (offices across the way means need to remember to keep shades down). Two sinks with TV built into the mirror.

Service was great. And the extras! The first night we had a fruit bowl delivered. The second night, we had cheese, wine and crackers delivered. We had free access to the concierge level which had free hot breakfast in the morning and snacks in the afternoon. Choice of TWO newspapers (delivered in the morning hanging in bag on the door) made hubbie very happy.

Only glitch was when hubbie left the pool--you can't go out the way you came in. There are two exits, and one takes you into an exit stairwell. So, he had quite an adventure making his way back into the hotel, going through valet parking and ending up in a business section of the hotel that was not connected to the rooms. I would also have appreciated better lighting on the in-room desk, had to move one of the lamps so could see better while I worked.

The hotel does not have a shuttle, but, taxis to the airport are easy to catch at the front door with the assistance of the staff. Make sure that when you arrive you give the exact location of the hotel--there are two Marriotts in downtown Miami so rather confusing.

If you are attending meetings, also plan on layers. It was rather cold in the conference rooms even though warm outside.

Regards to meals, hubbie recommends nearby Rosa Mexicana for delicious fish tacos. The concierge level breakfast is more than satisfying with Illy coffee, tea, juice, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit etc. Only had takeout dessert from the hotel restaurant DB Moderne, but, that was good and beautifully presented. The pastry chef came out and helped me select something that would be gluten-free. PANDAN SCENTED RICE PUDDING with Caramelized Banana, Coconut Foam and Mango/Banana Sorbet. They insisted on having it delivered to the room.

Despite this being a business trip and my having to work on grant applications and speeches, it really felt more like a holiday stay. What a nice hotel!

Room Tip: VIP suite if you want to celebrate (e.g., 3708)

We stayed here for one night before leaving on a cruise. We weighed the option of renting a car and paying the valet parking fee ($35 unlimited in and out) versus paying cab fares, and the rental car totally paid off (we had flown into Fort Lauderdale). We had never been to Miami before, and totally fell in love with it. This hotel was unparalleled. The views were amazing, every corner was sparkling clean, and the amenities (such as the TV in the bathroom mirror and the desktop with free wireless in the room) were totally unexpected. Loved Bayside (less than a mile from the hotel, with shops and restaurants), and about a 10-minute drive to South Beach. The only problem we had was when the valet brought up the wrong car for us, so we had to wait about an extra 15 minutes. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

For starters, the design is stunning, just the right combination of sleek meeting elegance. The staff was friendly and attentive. They upgraded our room to ap beautiful view of the bay! The bathroom features a huge shower and a soaker tub. And then there's the bed... BY FAR the best sleep I've ever had in a hotel!

The cleanliness was outstanding! This is the biggest concern I have. I've stayed in some highly rated hotels that were filthy but the Marquis is cleaner than even I expected! I noticed that around the baseboard under the bed, even behind the end tables, was spotless.

This place is what all other hotels should aspire to be.

This is the nicest Marriott I have ever stayed at. Being new helps but the rooms are beautiful.

First updgraded to suite, which had an amazing desk to work at . Switched to a king room because prefer layout better. It was on 41st floor with amazing views and floor to ceiling windows.

Best of all was scheduled to stay at Epic but Marriott matched rate, that is how brand loyalty is built.

Way to go Marriott !

Room Tip: High floor facing bay

Stayed night after cruise.
Arrived at 8.30 am & was given our room key straight away.

We checked in our room which had a full view of miami . super!!

The room was a home from home, 2 tvs, one tv in bathroom behind mirror, bath & shower cannot rate this hotel highly enough,

only downside pool was very small, but the rest of the hotel makes up for the small pool.

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade , they can only say no..

Myself and a couple of friends stayed at this hotel the first weekend in May. Hotel is about 8 miles from the airport by cab and 1 mile from the Cruise ship terminal, which we were departing out of the next day. The hotel was a terrific stay and all of us loved it. The rooms were in excellent condition. Stayed on the 41st floor overlooking the harbour which was georgous both day and night, looking from the floor to ceiling windows. The room was in terrific shape. Aromotherphy bath products in the bathroom, full stand up glass shower, and a shoaking tub. 60" HD TV on the wall. The bed was very comfortable, and did not note any dust in the room, etc (yes I did run my finger across the top of one of the pictures in the room, and dust free as well) Location was convienant to what we wanted to do. Checkin and Checkout were a breeze, we arrived several hours early and our rooms were ready. All the staff we encountered were delightful. Played virtual bowling on the 16th floor, close to the pool and full size basketball court and billard tables. The cost for bowling is $25 per hour for up to eight people. This is my hotel of choice in Miami currently. We had access to the Club room and the breakfast was fantastic.
