“A FANTASTIC GEM IN DOWNTOWN MIAMI”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2011

The Marriott brands vary so much in my experience. From the Ritz Carlton's to the Courtyards there is so much variety. This was my first time at a Marriott Marquis property and frankly, it should not have the Marriott name before it as it is more worthy of a Ritz Carlton.

Gorgeous hotel with spacious and modern rooms that are not just your average "Marriott room". Bathrooms fabulous. Service outstanding. Location excellent. Staff goes out of their way to please.

Great value for the dollar.

We arrived at the hotel at 1045pm after a flight from the West Coast. Unfortunately, we had not eaten dinner. By the time we made it up to the restaurant it was exactly 1100pm which is what time the restaurant at the Marquis closes. They were kind enough to stay open and promptly serve us a really nice dinner for a hotel coffee shop. Kudos for going the extra mile.

Highly recommend.

This Marriott is by far the best hotel stay I had this year. I got upgraded to a suite at check-in.

Suite room:
-The rooms are very luxurious and well taken care of.
-3 TVs in room: 2 huge Samsung LEDs (over 65') and 1 tv in the bathroom.
-huge bathroom, including a tub and shower.
-huge desk with a LCD monitor, phone and internet.
-ILLY espresso coffee
-Fantastic views

Lounge:
-There was a lounge on my floor (36th) open 24 hours with TVs, tables, snacks (like 8 different kind of protein or cereal bars), fruits, coffee, water, etc.

Gym:
-Fantastic gym with all the equipment I needed.

Breakfast:
-Since I am an elite member, I get free breakfast. The breakfast was FANTASTIC! Cook to order and buffet with some fancy choices like smoked salmon.

Service/Personnel:
-ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Very polite and conversational. During my stay, I had a problem with the espresso machine, called the front desk, and within 3 minutes someone was at my room fixing it.

We loved this hotel, nothing to complain about. It's away from the lively South Beach, but that was OK with us. It was only a short taxi to the cruise terminal, less than $20 for the trip. We were in walking distance to Bayside Marketplace and some other stores. We took the hop-on hop-off bus and spent some time at South Beach. There is a movie viewing room and a video bowling ally at the hotel, that looked like a lot of fun. The service was great, the rooms large. They have a nice cappuccino maker in the room, the best coffee I have ever had in a hotel room.

Just a businessnstay, but the hotel was fantastic. Everything from check-in went extremely well. The rooms are very relaxing, clean and set up for busines with a nice size desk. Ther service was top notch and the stay hardly seemed like work with such comfortable accommodations.

This is hands down the best hotel that I have been to. Although the location is not the best in Miami (not too bad though), everything else about this hotel is fantastic. All the staff in the hotel is very polite and helpful. The rooms are the biggest I have ever seen, all equipped with 55" TVs and laptops. The rooms have gourmet coffees, and the restrooms are very chic. The views are astounding. I would stay at this hotel in a heartbeat.

The overall experience was amazing, the location perfect and the amenities of the hotel (pool, gym, bar, etc) were great. The room: VERY SPACIOUS, incredible (really) All the electronic gadgets you can imagine are there, the bathroom is huge with shower and bathtub, a TV incorporated in the bathroom mirror... The only two negative things i could say about this hotel: the shower/bathtub water handles are inverted, where the cold water should be, the hot one is (but is a minor problem) and the huge tv has a weak signal.
Leaving a side the two minor issues I had, great value for money, I would recommend it. Next time in Miami surely will stay here.

Room Tip: If you choose higher floors you will get a great view

This is a new and beautiful hotel, with big modern bedrooms and great bathrooms. Huge windows provided spectacular water views. You can't fault the rooms or service, but the location wasn't great for a tourist. There are a couple of shopping malls within about a 15 minute walk, a tour boat operation and some restaurants in the local area - but not much else. The hotel itself has a rooftop pool which is nice and some other recreation facilities such as a basketball court and virtual bowling. However, if the hotel is having a private corporate event, these facilities may not be available. Restaurants were good for both food and service.
I am giving the hotel 5 stars because it is beautiful - but as a tourist I would prefer to stay in Miami Beach or South Beach.
