“Great hospitality! Drove us to Miami Beach!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013

My friend and I were passing through Miami on a 15-hour layover on our way home from volunteering in South America. One of the managers ended up being our shuttle driver from the airport back to the cute New Yorker Boutique. Our drive from the airport was like a tour, he pointed out celebrity houses and famous places in Miami. We told our driver about our plans for the next morning to see as much of Miami in the little time we had before our flights. He offered to take us down the Miami boardwalk after we checked out in the morning and pick us up with our bags in the car and take us to the airport. Such a nice gesture!
Once we had arrived at the hotel, Mimi at the front desk was so happy and welcoming. It was really nice to have such nice hospitality! She gave us the wifi code and showed us some places to eat dinner with discounts if you showed the hotel card.
The breakfast was just great! Lots of bananas, apples, bagels, and milk.
Our checkout went smoothly, and our few hours at Miami Beach were incredible. He showed us where to go and where he would pick us up. Everything ran flawlessly.
Overall, it was a great place to stay. Yes, the hotel is not a 5 star hotel, but after being without running water for weeks we were in heaven. It had a very retro diner feel. Personally I liked it, it was cheap and gave me everything I needed. Couldn’t really ask for more. Don’t forget to factor in the airport shuttle cost is $10 per person per drive!

Stayed here for 3 days, the Hotel location is not so good and if you come back late at night you'll not find a slot for your car in the Hotel's parking.
The room level is average compared to the price (actually I didn't try other Hotels in Miami to be able to compare but the experience wasn't very satisfying while the Hotel is not that cheap). Bathrooms need complete overhauling, I couldn't believe that there is no clothes hangers in the bathroom or even a place where I can put my toothbrush or my hairbrush. The outdoor breakfast area is nice and the breakfast itself is good too.
By some improvements and refurbishments the hotel can become much better.

Thank you for your feed back on your recent stay. We apologize for any inconveience you may have experienced during your stay. We are located on a main highway 15 minutes to downtown by car and 20 minutes to southbeach by car . We do provide 10 hangers to each room and there is a closet to hang cloths in the event the guest needs additional hangers they can call frontdesk and we will provide additional hangers. As for parking our hotel sits on its entire block of 65 street, we have 3 lots for parking in front of hotel 1/in the back of hotel and in addition 1/on the side parking at the hotel is not nor has been an issue we have enough spaces for our guest and staff. We take all complaints and request and address them accordingly to improve our property and to become Miami's number one choice hotel for travelers.

Well, everything here is average or below, the room couldn't be any smaller, the location is average, not close to anything, so rent yourself a car.
Breakfast is all carbs with no hot items, only bananas for a change.
Room upkeep and cleanness are average.
I like a lot the breakfast area, outdoor and cozy.

Room Tip: Book your room on the upper floor.

Was very disappointed with my stay.... the room decor was cute but when i went into the restroom the toilet had not been flushed and the shower had a little bit of mildew. The rug had a wet dog smell and the people that work on the office are rude and unprofessional

We stayed at the New Yorker for 2 nights prior to our cruise. Fabulous staff, very friendly and helpful! We were referred to Balan's as we had arrived a little early and had a great lunch while we waited for our room. Quaint little hotel with great retro decor. Breakfast was included and served in the garden area. Pool was lovely ... very clean and tidy hotel and grounds!

We were drawn to this hotel due to it's small size and distance from the Port (not too close to be over burdened with the hustle of downtown - yet only 10-15 mins to the Port), as well as reviews. We were not disappointed and would most definitely stay here again!

A great find and highly recommended!

We only stayed here one night, and had selected this property based on other reviews we had read. We were not disappointed. Yes, the area is a bit transitional, but it is being rejuvenated in a good way, and I would not let this deter you from staying here. We walked to a wonderful restaurant for dinner (Blue Collar) and we felt safe walking the short distance for early evening dinner. Our room was large, clean, and simply decorated with sort of a throwback, retro vibe. Breakfast was simple, but ample and is served in the outside garden area. Only slight complaint I had was the young man who was "tending" the breakfast area was not as industrious as he could have been in terms of refilling items, etc. We would stay here again.

An amazing find! Fun & Funky decor in room. Great location for getting to cruise port. Nice breakfast in the outside garden. Only there one nite but would definitely love to stay again for a longer time to explore the area. Very pleasant, friendly and helpful staff. They referred us to Balan's for dinner-within walking distance and food was wonderful.
