“Beautiful park "except" for dogs!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2014 via mobile

This is a great park, with beautiful creek view! One can relax, jog, walk, play basketball, do free yoga, bbq sum hotdogs but can't ignore dogs, esp the huge ones :-(
Some of the owners care less, they let the dogs lose unleashed, don't pick their poop...this is very very annoying! Wish they cared more about others..

“A great park with bad pet owners...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2013

I wouldn't consider this 8 acre city park a destination for visitors to the city, but if you are staying in the Midtown Miami area it is a lovely respite - well maintained and designed with walkways along the bay and lots of activities inside the perimeter (exercise machines, playground, sand volleyball and basketball courts, picnic sites). Unfortunately, dog owners have taken over the park and do not confine their pets to the dog area so that there are no "poo free" grassy areas. Picking up after one's pet isn't a social norm in Miami apparently and it will likely take citations and fines to make this so. Also the comments made by Trip Advisor reviewers highlight another problem... Pace Park is NOT an off-leash dog park. There are many dog owners who let their dogs wander around not in their control off leash - oblivious to the fact that not everyone adores their dogs as much as they do. This is the kind of urban behavior that gets dogs banned from parks and (although I hate to say it because I have a dog) perhaps this is what it will take for people to clean up their act.

There is city planning talk about connecting Pace Park with downtown Miami via a boardwalk creating a waterfront pathway to the new museum complex, Bayfront, and Claude Pepper Park. Although this might change the neighborhood feeling of Pace Park, it would also make it easier to get downtown on foot without having to traverse blocks of concrete and crazy intersections.

“Good place for every dog and excercise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

I often go there around 6 pm Friday with a dog. Our dog is always satisfied playing with lots of other dogs. it is not official dog friendly park but I have never met any trouble of dog fighting as everyone has good manner and keep eyes on their dogs. in addition to playing spot for dog, it is pretty gym for exercise for free. I feel there are less mosquitos in this park compared to kennedy park in Coconut Grove, which is good for us and dog.
only unsatisfied point is that basket court is always occupied by several members looks too exclusive.
Anyway, here is excellent place to play for an hour.

“Dogs, recreation and the homeless”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

This was a great place to hang out while my wife was doing her convention. There are various sporty things to do, a playground for kids, places to sit and watch the dogs and the water. The homeless take up much of the seating in the morning. They did not interact with me nor seem to bother the numerous people coming and going. Most of the litter was cleaned up regularly, though it was amazing the amount of trash that did not get into the many trash cans. Not big enough for a jog, unless you circle it. Not good for biking at all, too crowded.
