Great Stay, well placed, enormous comfort!
Stayed at this hotel in feb./2013 for four nights.
The location is excellent, just a feel blocks from the American Express Arena and The Bayside Market.
The room amenities are very good, the shower has a vintage tub that really works the water pressure is ok.
Room and balcony size are generous, 42' LCD TV, Blueray and cable, closet, minibar and sink..
Staff very kind and polite.
No breakfast!!! They have it by the menu and a cup of coffee and milk costs U$ 6,00. Include the pancakes and you will pay U$20,00 plus tax, each.
Now the best of the best is the bed! I have never slept in a mattress like that, EVER!!! Amazing!
I really liked the hotel and would go back many times!

This hotel is the perfect spot to crash with friends for a show at the Arena. You're literally across the street so you can come home and freshen up after dinner and before the show.
The accommodations are comfy chic. The best part of this hotel was the 5star service.
I felt completely taken care of and attended to every step along the way.
My only regret is not using the spa.
We loved it here and would will return to this location for another show or game night in Miami.

I have stayed in different hotels in Downtown/Brickell/south beach in Miami. This time I selected this hotel because it looked beautiful in their website and because of the wonderful reviews in Tripadvisor and other websites and because I had to attend an event at the American Airlines Arena, which is across the street from the hotel. Well here is my summary:
PROS:
- Closeness to 1A and other highways, which get you anywhere within minutes.
- Across the street from the American Airlines arena, in case you are attending an event there.
- Spacious rooms with modern decor.
- Spacious closets.
- Fair prices for breakfast

CONS:
- ALL the rooms are looking at a construction. They offered my to pay $40 for a room with a bay view. Yes, I could see the bay in the horizon but a huge construction next to the hotel:(
- The telephone at the room never worked
- Very difficult to get hold of the reception (once on the room)
- they only offer valet parking for $32
- The pool was freezing and there was not much going on at the pool. In fact there was no one at this hotel.
- No attention to detail. They asked me if there was an special ocassion we were celebrating, and I told them about the big motive we were celebrating. I thought they were going to leave a note, a rose, or a chocolate at the room to welcome us, but I was wrong.
- The location is not very nice to walk by. There are a lot of homeless people (luckily there were a lot of police).

The best part of our stay at the Casa Moderna was how clean the room was. Almost everything else fell away in quality from there. One is not able to get their own ice so a 40 minute wait with several calls to the front desk ensued. The ice finally arrived as we left for dinner - our romantic idea for an in-room cocktail lost. Unclear entrances and signs saying "use other door" were the welcome. The hotel seems an afterthought to the overall building which is a condo. The front desk staff were not particuarly friendly and certainly not knowlegable about things like getting ice to a room or understanding the intricacies of an over designed room phone. In a nut shell: Beautiful rooms and bathrooms, little follow-up to have the administration of the hotel match its physical presence.
