“Beautiful room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

This hotel is in the up and coming Miami port area across from the aa arena and in walking distance to bay front. I had an unbelievable room with balcony overlooking the port. The shower had windows to see out while showering however u had complete privacy. The concierge is friendly and full of great suggestions!!

Room Tip: Room 506,,

Let me start by saying that this a a very beautiful property! It was very chic and modern and absolutely stunning! I feel in love with the decor and the rooms were huge. We booked a Deluxe King but was upgraded to a junior suite, which was huge.

The staff was very friendly at check in. We got there early and had breakfast as our room was not ready. Food was pretty good, not spectacular. Everyone we interacted with was very friendly and attentive.

We did have a few hiccups, like we did not get a wake up call which caused us to move a dinner reservation from 7:30pm to 10pm, they were very apologetic. They also stored our luggage at check in as we were so early and we had some pictures from our cruise in a plastic bag which we hung on our luggage and when we got our bags the pictures were gone, upon inquiring about our pictures, we found out that they gave them to a guest that was checking out that had bags stored with ours and they guest left with our pictures. They contacted the guest and he left them in a cab when he realized it was not his pictures. Needless to say we were very disappointed and upset because these are pictures we can never get back as the cruise line cannot give us copies (they get rid of on last day of cruise).

Once we checked out we spoke to the acting GM Teri and she was just wonderful and helping us in every way possible and compensated us for our loss. While we are not able to retrieve the pictures at least she helped in the only way she could. There was no run around and voicemails necessary, she always answered the phone and returned calls in a prompt manner. This is very rare in the hospitality business.

All in all it was a beautiful property, friendly staff, just a series of unfortunate events.

Room Tip: Junior suite is a must!

We ended up here overnight due to a flight cancellation caused by Hurricane Sandy. Although our stay was very brief (maybe 9 hours), we were impressed with the quality of the room, especially the sheets, which were very comfortable. My husband initially booked an inexpensive room through Priceline, but we were upgraded, so I can't speak for the quality of all the rooms, but ours was spacious, and did not feel like a typical hotel room at all. The view was excellent (out towards the bay and the basketball arena), and we received good service as well. The staff was helpful and responsive to small requests. The bathroom did lack some privacy (the toilet and shower are separated from the bed area by only a frosted glass wall), which was fine for me and my husband, but could be a problem for some, so keep that in mind. Also, because our stay was so short, we didn't get a chance to check out the amenities (pool, bar, etc.). But we are confident they would have been great, based on our experience with the room and service. Highly recommended.

Couldn't fault the hotel or staff. We were given a free upgrade to an executive room which was beautiful and had fantastic views over Miami Port. Great location and facilities. We wiill definitely stay again.

I was surprised when I walked into the room and realized how spacious it was. The furninture and decoration are also superb. The friendliness of the housekeeping is something to highlight.
The amenities were also fantastic as well as the bath soap and shampoo. It is definetely not pricey for the quality of the room.

Room Tip: Choose a double deluxe room, best deal!

I really cannot understand all the positive comments about this hotel.
It's ok if you get it for a cheap rate but it's far away from a nice accomodation.

The whole property is running on a very low cost level, which you can feel everywhere. There is no atmosphere in the lobby or bar area. On the poolside they're trying to immitate cool south beach properties by playing loud music, but that's more disturbing than anything else.

The balcony door in our room was not closing. I asked to fix that several times. One time someone showed up, had a look at this but nothing happened. So we had to sleep 3 nights with an open door! No appologies from the front desk, which was by the way quite disinterested.

Check out was rude. No question about our stay, just argiung about a wrong position check.

Cannot reccomend this hotel!

Very spacious! Enjoyed the hotels infinity pools. The hotel had a very modern feel and beautiful architecture. Ritzy, but pricey. We paid $9 for bottled water in room. The Balcony was huge! Lots of room to stretch out. Great hotel, great stay, if you bring your own water.
