Guided tour so you're not lost in the vast Miami Bay
Views of Miami skyline from the water
Views of other parts of Miami - Fisher Island, Oceanfront Mansions, etc...
Life vests provided, a brief operating lesson provided
Very poor customer service by attendants
Counter attendants couldn't describe the tour and rude attitude, and couldn't describe where they were located outside of giving the address.
Guide was friendly but thrill seeker that would go pounding into waves at 45mph and expect everyone to do the same. (If you've ever been open ocean jet skiing before, you know that it isn't enjoyable to that for more than 10 minutes, we had a 1 hour ride)
You can ONLY book it online
HOW TO FIND IT
You're better off looking on google for the Victoria's Secret store in Bayside. The store sits at the end of the Bayside Market, and there's a entrance to the boat docs there. The counter is located in a enclosed cabin like boat shelter on the left, brown colored with no windows. It's located next the picnic table.
The location is almost under the bridge that goes to South Beach
Bayside is located next to the American Airlines Arena near downtown/Brickel Miami.
You'll go towards the port next to where the cruise ships are and here is where the water will be the calmest, but the guide will likely go as fast as possible. You'll swing to the other side of the port to the cargo ships, and head on to a sand lot nearby Fisher Island, where you'll be in waist high water and be able to get off the Jet Ski for some pictures. Next you'll go towards downtown, circle back and go the opposite way to see some of the mansions, then circle around some small islands and begin to head back. This was for the 1 hour trip.
Watch out for other traffic of boats, jet skis, etc...
Something you can't really control is who else will be on the trip with you... beginners/advanced people? Aggressive? Rule followers? Will someone freak out and force the guide to bring the whole crew back?
Try to book the 1/2 hour instead of the 1 hour tour. If you've never jet skied before, an hour is very long and a serious work out.
I wouldn't advice someone who has never jet skied for this one to be their first time, if they have the option of trying it somewhere else. You can go if you're adventurous and have never done, but it isn't for beginners.
Get a groupon/discount. Normally, $130/ski (1 or 2 people same cost), you can get groupons for $80, and the 10AM trip for $99.
You'll have to show up 20 minutes before tour, plan accordingly.
Check out the wind, the less windy the calmer the water, the better the experience (winds less than 4mph is ideal)
Go to the bathroom before
If you're not a confident swimmer, don't go... this is the most busy bay/port in the SE U.S.
