We booked this hotel for a one-night pre-cruise stay. The trouble we had finding this hotel is what soured me on staying here again. It is just really hard to get to for someone who is not familiar with Miami. The way the streets are set up in this area is just confusing. Our GPS couldn't get us there and the directions on Marriott's site were worthless. I don't know how long we drove around before we finally stopped at one of the nearby hotels to get directions. Aside from that, we had a wonderful stay as usual.

The front desk clerk was friendly and upgraded us to a 2-bedroom at no charge and without me even asking. Our room was clean and our beds were clean, comfortable, and cozy. A welcome sight after our 10+ hour drive to Miami. We had been driving since the night before so promptly laid down for naps. The hotel is really close to everything. We had to get a few last minute items and a CVS and Kmart were within easy driving distance. I really liked that the hotel had a security gate so that not just anyone could get in. I didn't like the $14.99 per night parking fee but that seems to be the norm in Miami. The main street is really busy but the neighborhood around it seems like it's mostly older Cubans. It was a quiet, clean, and neat area. We did not feel unsafe there.

Breakfast the next morning was wonderful and there was a good variety of hot and hearty items along with Continental type breakfast foods. Check out was a breeze and the hotel was an easy drive to the location where we were parking the car. We really enjoyed our brief stay at this hotel and wouldn't mind staying here again. But since we don't travel to Miami often, we're not going to remember how we ended up finding it the first time and I just don't think it's worth spending another hour trying to find it. Then again, who knows? Maybe Marriott will have better directions on their site the next time we decide to travel to Miami.

Upon arrival we were greeted by two very friendly staff at the front desk. The studio room I stayed in was very nice with a separate kitchen and sitting area to work. The bed was comfortable which is very important to me. The location was very convenient to the airport but I question the area since the entire complex was gated. There were two other properties on site which gave us nice dining and drink alternatives. The only negative is the Wifi did not adequately cover my room so I had to use the cable. This limited the area that I could work in. There was WiFi in the public areas which was nice. The free breakfast was one of the better that I've had.

Stayed here with my friends 1 day before we cruised out of Miami. The hotel is located with 2 other Mariott hotels. The exterior is very clean and have security at the entrance, no one can just drive onto the premise. When we were checking in to get our room, the lady checking us in, even though she was nice and polite, she was a little overwhelmed and wasn't that helpful. Very short with her answers and I was getting a little frustrated until the manager on site stepped in. I cannot remember the female's name but she did an excellent job helping us and answering any questions that I had. The hotel room was very neat and clean. They served a good breakfast buffet in the lobby. The hotel is close to the port of Miami and to Ocean Drive. This was a great hotel for our 1 night and since I enjoy cruises, I would use this hotel again.

Cons:

Front desk alerted us to recent theft from vehicles in lot. This made us weary as to the location
Front desk upgraded us to a Pure Air room. In my opinion it was not a true upgrade, as a platinum member I usually get upgraded to a suite and not to a standard room with pure air qualities. I actually had more allergy issues in this room and the running of the humidifier was noisy. I do not recommend this room or if offered a "upgrade" to tell them a standard room is not an upgrade.
